I was 14 years old at the time of his death. I'm now 50, and it still hurts. That morning, I woke up and told my mom I had a dream that Len Bias died. I used to sleep with the radio on, and I obviously heard it in my sleep and thought it was a dream. I was crushed when my mom told me it was not a dream.

It wasn't, either they were lying or covering him up. Also, you're forgetting an important fact: one of the reasons his coach Lefty driesell was fired after Bias death, was because he hid Bias addiction to cocaine. You can read it in the chronicles of that time, they're online.

I watched his Interveiw when he was at Maryland right before this. His voice did kind of sound congested, similar to what how people sound when they nose dripping, or chronic use causes inflammation . I could be wrong. Lots of possibilities. Coulda been cut, or too pure(after having low quality), or literally allergic. Sad either way, every hooper needs know who he is tho, nobody untouchable, and u never know what gon touch you. anybody who puts forth as much effort as len bias did to get to the NBA is truly someone special. That's why it makes it sick how his life ended. I'm so sick and tired of people in college relying on drugs to have 'fun'. just a heard mentality of idiots who don't have the self confidence to develop their social skills on their own. Len bias got caught up in that crowd AND IT GOES TO SHOW YOU how bad drugs are. very sad

In fact Jordan only got to the Final Four his freshman year on a team led by James Worthy, Jimmy Black and Sam Perkins. The reason college basketball allowed zone defense was specifically explained by the rules committee to promote team play over individual ability.

I feel so I sorry for her for her suffering, but Lionese Bias needs to get rid of the Jesus crap and start taking responsibility in her part of Len’s death. Kid’s DO NOT get involved in the use of hard core illegal drugs like cocaine unless the parents failed the kid to a certain degree. She has been viewed as this poor mother figure who lost two sons to tragic deaths. Where there is smoke, there is a fire. Something happened in that household that CAUSED Len to view illegal drugs as no more than drinking a single Miller Lite in one evening. As it turns out, Len Bias had been using cocaine for some time. Unlike what Lefty says, this wasn’t just a one time mistake in judgment. Len had been using coke for some time. I also have real issues with Lionese because she is one of the people responsible for the insane mandatory sentencing laws that still put marijuana joint smokers in Texas in prison for years. Judges are no longer allowed to be judges, and due to prison over-population, rapists and other people who have committed much worse crimes are allowed to be released while the joint smoker rots in prison. Illegal drug use is a HEALTH problem. It only becomes a criminal issue when an addict beats up an old lady for money to get his heroin. I can put 3 guys through Betty Ford for the same price that it takes to house one non-violent drug offender in a California state prison. I am so sick of it. It’s insane and a waste of taxpayer’s money. And to start using Jesus and religion as the reason for doing this or not is to ignore science and what really works.
