is a track about appreciating someone who has been significant in your life. It refers to the iconic character of Mrs. Robinson, played by Anne Bancroft in the 1967 film 'The Graduate'. The song pays homage to her character, and acknowledges the impact she has had on modern culture. The lyrics highlight the admiration Mrs Robinson has received and suggest that she is respected and cherished long after her time in the movie. The song also makes reference to Joe DiMaggio, a famous American baseball player, who is considered a cultural icon in the United States. The song is ultimately about reflecting on the contributions of someone who has made a lasting impact and showing appreciation for that person.

Chickens roost at night. Free range chickens will peck and scratch for bits of food during the day. But, as dusk begins to fall, those chickens will always, always come back to their roosts for safety. You can create problems and bullshit, but it will always come back to bite you in the butt. .. Mrs Robinson is from the album “Bookends” by Simon & Garfunkel (S & G). I was just a wee lad of 4 when it was released, I lived near Chicago, Illinois in a town called Naperville. My older brothers had all kinds of albums strewn about the house, but by far my favorite was Bookends. I listened to it over and over, as a young lad is wont to do, and there is one particular thing that I always remembered from that album, and I will share it with you today. In the single “Voices of old people,” S & G apparently went into a nursing home and recorded some old people talking - I’m not sure if it was with or without their knowledge of being recorded, but I would guess they did not know - and there is one particular moment when some old lady clears her throat in a way only the old can, and then she blurts out “God forgive me, but an old person without money is pathetic.” I always remembered that.

is a track about appreciating someone who has been significant in your life.

Why? Cause it sucks?

Why and how? It is less sincere and mature.
I'm here because I'm a Robinson. Played at my wedding, My mom and dad killed it on the dance floor
This song was originally written for Mrs. Roosevelt, First Lady to the President that lifted America out of the Depression, through WWII and into the economic boom, baby boom '50's... It was meant as a nostalgic song about a more innocent, honest time... A church-going time... A more hopeful time... America had lost its way and was looking back...
This is still one of my all time favorite covers 😊

This is a great cover. I don't like covers, but this one is fantastic. You did a great job, Lemonheads, from a S&G fan. :D

That's kinda the idea, have covers that sound different enough from the original to be entertaining. Otherwise, you're just a jukebox. Covers like DEVO's early 1975 take on Secret Agent Man, Cardiacs' cover of Suzannah's Still Alive, and the Minutemen cover of Ain't Talkin' Bout Love.
I love this song, this version make my Young days happier . Great song, bigest version....New face of oldest times
The Lemonheads really brought into focus of the IRS proverbial squeezing the lemon of music onto the musical instruments.
adoro lemonheads... o show deles foi foda de ver!! :D
