    This is the best recipe for lemon crinkles. I love the addition of lemon extract. Rolling in white sugar first before rolling in the powdered sugar also made a lot of difference. It made the cookies crispier and the powdered sugar adhered to the cookies better. Thank you

    When I’m done mixing, I use a tiny, clean rubber spatula and scrape the excess with the back of a knife as I go. The scraping part is about an inch long and 1/2 inch wide. I love the rubber spatula-type scraper on the outside of your paddle attachment. I wish my KitchenAid had that. The instructions that came with it said you won’t really need to scrape the bowl very often. Wanna BET?! Thanks for the recipe, made it last night and will be rolling cookies this morning.

    NICE! How did your cookies turn out??? I bought that paddle attachment with the rubber on Amazon! It's great, i use it all the time so I don't have to scrape the side as much.

    I often use a dab of finger nail polish on items like keys, phone chargers, etc. Have fun with the colors bcuz the polish won’t damage the items but its great simple hack! 🤩💜

    So happy you made them!! Hmm how long did you bake them?? They turn dry if they're over baked. Just bake for 10 minutes at 350 and just a very light golden brown on the edges if none at all.

    G'day, Paula Ulloa! I wonder if dipping the measuring cup directly into the flour instead of spooning the flour into the cup makes for a larger quantity of flour in the mixture than desirable, possibly contributing to dryness. I noticed that in the video.

    Hi can I use margarine instead of butter?

  • @BakingwithChickens

    @BakingwithChickens

    2 жыл бұрын

    You could but it wouldn't be as good because of consistency, but it would work. Butter has more fat than margarine, so if your margarine is mostly water it will make thin, flat, crispy cookies.

    I make these for work. I usually do a decent size batch and then freeze them all without the powdered sugar on them. Thaw them out the morning I need them for about an hour or so and then roll them in powdered sugar.

    Christine McElroy has written in her comment above that it is 3/4 cup of butter, so that would be 113+56=169 grams. Googled your query and the answer I got was 141.8 grams. So yes, I will use 140 grams.

  • @BakingwithChickens

    @BakingwithChickens

    You could but I don't recommend it. It will significantly change the texture of the cookie and the dough won't stay stiff. It'll be more runny like a brownie, rather than keep a cookie shape.
