I've always wanted a Christmas village. This year will be my first year that I'm going to put one up. It's July and I am counting the days till I can put my village. I am going to decorate early this year like right after Thanksgiving. God bless.

I didn't set up my very large village one year(it takes me a better part of a day) and my family had a cow! Especially the males in the family. Because of my village, one of my son-in-law's (i have 4) has started his own village obsession / collection. I have a large bay window where I set mine up but I think I'm going to have to layer up another tier because my husband just bought 2 new... and quite large additions to the collections this fall. My husband has the village obsession also. If it were up to me, I would just light up a few of the house and call it good but we must have the ENTIRE village scene!

I have 3 smaller Christmas villages and they are my favorite Christmas decor. I love them so much I made a Halloween and Easter village too. None of my pieces are the fancy collectible kind. I mostly find my stuff at Walmart, Michael's and second hand places. I love to diy accessories for them because they do tend to be a bit pricey to buy new.

Your village is beautiful. My husband started my village obsession the year we got married. It was a 5 piece set and now I have an entire town. My husband said that if I don't stop adding to it we will have to move in there. I love it and get comments every year. Now we have to wait an entire year to see what you do next Christmas with your town.

Absolutely beautiful village! I’ve got a village that I used to put out ever year to but we moved in a smaller house and now I don’t have the room to put it up anymore. I’ve been collecting for over 30 years. I also have been collecting Hallmark ornaments ever since me and my husband got married over 35 years ago. My Christmas tree is like a memory tree with each ornament representing my children’s birth and growing up. Each of our pet’s that we loved over the years. All the ornaments that my children made at school and brought home. Of course now they’re all grown and have children of their own. When my time on earth is done they will inherit all their ornaments. Each of my children have started the same tradition with their family. 🎄🦌🎅🏻🥰❤️💖💕💝

Mine too. I have a Lemax city Village, one that I call The Great Lakes, one of my mom’s, a Bethlehem village, and one that I painted myself. I adore all of my little villages. I didn’t get to put them up this year because we had to relocate for a month while my husband is going through a stem cell transplant. It’s hard.

Sounds lovely. Maybe you could do smaller village scenes in different areas of your home, like a traveling village! Maybe a small neighborhood scene with 2-3 houses(or even one!) , a farm scene, an ice skating pond scene, etc. Based on the pieces you have. You could do a small scene in the center of your dining table, or on a dresser, or even in a corner of the kitchen counter. I hope you can still display some of your village!

Wow I love that bonfire idea! And the tree grove. I made some wire trees and clay cardinal birds to sit on the branches and a big paper mache snowhill amongst other things. Such fun.

I loved the bonfire element. I've been setting up a Lemax fishing village for my husband for decades. A couple of years ago I started using blinking colors lights for the houses. Loved it. But alas he is now tired of it.(not like he set it up or took it down. lol) so I know how much work it takes to set this up. Hiding all the wires and placing the figures. I love your houses though. They are so much more intricate. Very lovely.

I had the skating rink but somehow it got ruined so I just use the players on a mirror.
