I think that the post office looks good in the back. You can still see it but it kinda gives it dimension like there more to the town. It's beautiful my .on has a huge village with over 30 buildings and every year I love watching her put her village up it really puts me in the Christmas spirit

You should add the fake snow inside the vases so everything flows so nicely....it looks very beautiful!❤️💚

Looks really cute. Wish Dollar Tree still had the same quality as before. I know it's too late, but next year you could add wrapping paper to the back ground. One year I used a black wrap with silver glitter snowflakes, which I save by rolling it up then sticking inside other wrapping rolls. Don't forget DT's puck lights to stick on the underside of the shelves to light up your town and some strands of lights under the snow. I've been a subscriber for quite a while now, so I wish you well and enjoy the holidays.

I have that same Village I bought over 15 years ago at the Dollar Tree collected them for several years. My husband built me a ladder shelf that we put up every year and there's three tiers. The top shelf is for the rich looking houses where the rich people supposedly live. The middle shelf is for the town and all its fixings with the bridges and the gazebo. Then the bottom shelf is for the country looking ones. All the houses are rustic-looking. I love putting it out every year! And I do like the smaller ones better than the big ones! I love the plate ideas and the bridge across it so you gave me some new ideas!

I love how u did the village...love love it!

I love this...I did this back in the 80s I used a compact mirror for the pond for the skaters and cotton balls for snow along with spray can snow I loved it with the little houses and trees, little people but I glued it all to a board. Thank you for sharing you did an amazing job!

@crafty girl... In my village, I've used upside down bowls or plastic containers that I tuck underneath the "faux material" batting. It's free, because it's using stuff I already have!!! The bridge connecting the 2 areas of your town is really cute.

Hi Marie, I love this video, I used to look at my moms village and talk to myself saying what everything was and what the people were doing ...just like you did on here. It was so magical, I love where you set it up it makes it more magical in there. You could put some of those DT little lights in there ...that would be so pretty! I use books with white bunting over them to create height. But the use of glass is beautiful!!!! It gives it an ice look and the faux snow makes it so magical. You are so creative!!!!

Great idea! The little shelves in the island works great for now, but eventually I want a huge village display. I saw Wal-Mart sells village sets too.

I have seen photos of village sets where people actually custom make their display stands! And it's not small, it's the size of a dining room table. But let's be honest, give me another two years and I'll be doing that too.

I love what you did, if you can find the right wrap, you could paper the inside next time with a deep blue with stars, or just blue and use stickers for stars, my parents set a village each year and it adds a nice touch.
