I think you will like it a lot. Pure BW are not an option for me. I can always convert if I need it.

I have been shooting with a pair of M240s (a black and a silver) for a couple of years now and just love them. Love how basic it is compared to the other offerings from many other brands and the M240s battery life is to die for....

Absolutely, taking 1000 pics with optical viewfinder is a breeze... Walking with camera on cannot be compared with other brands where the sensor is always on and drains the battery. Plus the optics are just beautiful. The whole package is just perfect...

How good is manual focussing using the live-view on the M240?

@@PSYCHIC_PSYCHO The very few times I used live view focusing was with an attached Olympus VF-2 EVF in the hot shoe and it seemed to work fine, but it's a range finder and meant to be focused that way..

@@mwales2112 Thank you for replying. The rangefinder focusing system has it's severe limitations when it comes to using ultra-wide angles. I am not keen on using DSLRs or Mirrorless as they are so over saturated with features that it can take months to learn to use them; whereas the M cameras are simpler, and the build quality is great.

@@PSYCHIC_PSYCHO The only time I was using the EVF was when I had my 15 or 21mm lens mounted. I would focus with the rangefinder and compose through the EVF. But mostly with anything that wide range/zone focusing works great.

There is nothing like it.

The M240 is a superb and very versatile camera; I've both a M240 and a M-P240. Three M lenses: 1.4/50, 3.8/24 and 2.5/90 plus a wide range of R-lenses. Have you soot some videos with your M240? Can you share with us? Keep on rolling!

How's the rangefinder maintenence? It is you need regular adjustment? And shutter replacement of leica m240 just curious, because some leica m10, M10-R, m10-p have freezing problem over the year or years. Thanks 🙏 nice video

Hi, thank you for you good question. Mine had the freezing shutter issue from the start but it was replaced under warranty. After that I have never had the issue. I have used the M for 10 years exactly with no adjustments to the viewfinder and no issue with the shutter. So the chances are if you do not have the issue from the start it will not show up. Keep in mind the life of the shutter will depend on the number of shots taken. I have taken about 25-30k photos and I should be well below the threshold which I have heard is about 100k photos taken, maybe even 150k. The adjustment to the viewfinder can be done by you and is not so hard either.

@@bonevchannel I'm think of buying leica M series, but I don't have a lot of money to buy the latest and greatest version I'm think of just leica M240 or leica M10, because other than that is so expensive and I don't need more megapixels is so massive for me 🙏

@@junichinomura4810 I would go with Leica M240. It has more flat tones and has video capabilities. M10 on the other hand had a bigger viewfinder.

What is the black plastic on the base plate?

That is a very good question. Many people would not notice it. It is for the famous Wi-Fi SD cards to be able to communicate with other devices.

For my M240, I never connect GPS successfully with the GPS grip. I don’t know why

Those grips are overwhelming to my liking. I have the basic one and have not used it much. It will help with big lenses but still it is one equipment that I barely ever use.

I have sold my M240 on its 5th anniversary. And now back to Leica with M11.

Once you try the magic, you always come back to it 🙂 I am still very happy with all the lenses I have purchased over the years, covering from 18-400mm some with adapters (R lenses). It is a great tool.
