That could be considered a plus, too, since it's less wasteful to not double-box things (like the old complaint of putting plastic around fruit with skins!). Though I do understand how this impacts people who like to keep their boxes as a collectable too.

Fun fact Upsilon is the German name for the letter Y which is why Kylo Ren’s ship is called an Upsilon class shuttle given it’s Y like wing shape

Omar Chehab If you look at the underside of the wings, there are 2 2x2 slots for landing gear ln each wing like in the movie. Make some yourself with skids, technic or just a plain brick and the set will be elevated.

Honestly I don’t care about the interior space, this’ll just sit on my shelf and look cool. And that’s exactly what this one can do, I’m actually not a fan of the sequels personally however I sure will be getting this set

I've been waiting and hoping that Lego gets to do Kylo Ren's shuttle again, correctly this time. I'm glad they got the chance! I'll be picking this ship up for sure.

shoua7 I just knew that they were going to make it again this year. It made sense even back when the last one was first revealed I thought that they would likely come back and have another go at making this far more accurate ahead of the last movie in this trilogy. I’m not disappointed though. It’s basically the same price as the last but far more accurate with better figures as well.

to be honest i like your mod of the 2015 version more than the current version :'D i prefer the big interior space ofc the new one has cooler figs and its muuuuch less work to just build it instead of modifying the old one still good job ^____^

We're going to have a Sith Trooper battle pack in January.

There is an awesome alternative build for the old version of this set on Rebrickable, where you can use the parts to build an awesome star destroyer whith no extra parts, so I recommend building that instead of selling your old version.

I really appreciate your effort in these reviews Jang, thank you for working so hard on giving lego fans some nice information.

I absolutely love this set. LEGO has redeemed themselves after the debacle with the 2015 version. Now I can only hope that they make up for the First Order AT-ST and actually give us a full First Order AT-ST in the near future... I really hope so I really, really love their design and hopefully they appear in ep9.

That was amazing idea to include Q and A into reviews.

I got the original one in 2015 and I loved that version, and I just picked this guy up on Force Friday. I absolutely love this new one! It looks so good and I honestly like both but this new one is just so much better and cooler looking. Great review!

Still prefer the modded version I did, partially inspired by yours, but mines has ratcheted joints AND the missile launchers inside the wings.

They shouldn't make it a battlepack. Battlepacks are meant to be bought in mass, but i dont feel like collecting 50 Rogue Hoods.

i just wanna let yall know that i slightly edited mine to make it a little better in that i took a lot of stuff out of the floor of the interior so i can just barely fit 5 people sitting down instead of 3 and i also put little angled 2x2 inverted slope pieces on the bottoms of the wings (2 per wing where the rounded tiles were) so that when its landed it stands a little bit taller so that the landing ramp looks a bit more realistic when its retracted.

Honestly I think your edit for the 2015 version actually looks better than Lego’s version, no offense to Lego though I really love theirs too, but idk your edit just looks really good.

Solution to having the wings splay out + trunk space and not have the wings flop around = hinge pieces. I don't know why they didn't do a pair of hinges with ball joints for locking, like the uwing. Frustrating for me, but I still got the set. I may modify.

The onscreen Q/A thing is an amazing idea

I like the cockpit of the 2015 model better. In The force awakens you have that scene at the end were we can see into the ship from the outside and see how big the interior is, the 2015 model has the see through pieces on the front that I think make that little difference. The new one is all red and you can see inside that little bit.

This is my first LEGO Star Wars set for the new Trilogy! As much as I dislike the movie itself, this shuttle and the excellent Minifigure selection is just too cool a set to miss

lan so you dislike something before you have even seen it. Personally I enjoyed the sequel trilogy so have a fair few sets from it. One I would suggest getting would be the resistance troop transport from 2016. That is a good build.

I prefer Jangs MOC. The new shuttle fuselage looks too flat, almost squashed. Sure the wings are better versus the original. I think I will enjoy modifying my original shuttle rather than paying for a new version of this model. But thanks to Lego for at least hearing the fans who asked for a more accurate version.

Regarding the price comparison with the 2015 version, here in Europe it has hardly changed between the 75104 (old) and the 75256 (new): Germany: 120 Euro (old) vs 120 Euro (new) UK: 100 GBP (old) vs 100 GBP (new) Netherlands: 130 Euro (old) vs 130 Euro (new) Waiting for a good sale or promo will definitely be worth it though!

99sharkbate I think they bumped up the price of the last one though during its life time bizarrely enough. From what I remember. Only by £10 but still. You can still find the last one at normal full price. This though is basically £10 and is so much better. It also has the same piece count as well.

I love the new design, I just hate that I have to buy the 2019. When I bought the 2015 edition I was really happy, but now the built a better looking one and cooler one.😭

I liked the older version, but i tore it apart for parts. Plus i like the new features and colouring for the new version

I don’t really like the new hood piece. It feels too block and kinda like a low poly render. I agree with you though that it does look better here than on say Obi Wan

I bought this here in Australia over the weekend from Target.They still had their 20% off all Lego, so got it at price of $135AUD, $91USD, was happy paying that much for it. Got the new AT-ST as well, $71AUD, $48USD, and the new A-wing for $35AUD, $24USD. Fortunately there was that little bit of a window where the sale still stretched out to when they just got released 😃👍🏻 Sale is still on, ends 9th October, although I think they have sold out of Kylo’s Shuttle

Holding it by the wing and it not coming appart was quite the surprise. Your braver then I am, but I stopped buying capital ships after clone wars so perhaps I'm used to shaker ships. :P Lovely work on your own version by the way.

You could totally put an engine system in there. Fuel is another problem. The propulsion system would be very weak and the craft couldn’t go too fast.

did get it yesterday, found an online retailer that sold it for 100. and ordered some displaystand from wickedbrick. did spend most of the afternoon building it . i do hope there will be more sets offering other knights of ren

Also we had better be getting the other 4 Knights of Ren in the January Wave of sets, come on please don’t let it be like the action figures where they only make a select few of them instead of all of them!?!? Include 2 in the Tie Dagger, And 2 in the X-Wing, and maybe if they make a Resistance B-Wing Set than include one in there and one in the x-Wing!!! In the Tie Dagger they should include 2 other knights of Ren, Kylo maybe with a head like the first shuttle set where you can put a over it to look like he is wearing his helmet with a hood, a Sith Trooper since i believe they pilot the Tie Dagger, and then include maybe Dark Side Rey. In the X-Wing include 1 knight of Ren (2 if no other Ep9 Set), Rose, Klaud or whatever the creatures name is, Jainna, D-0, Finn. If there is a B-Wing include the final Knight Of Ren, Dominic Monaghan’s Character to be the Pilot, maybe Leia and maybe First Order Stormtrooper. Also the Battlepack should come with a Sith Trooper, A Jet Sith Trooper, A Standard First Order Stormtrooper, And a Standard First Order Jet Trooper!!! Also I really love all of the figures in this set!!

I never got the 2015 shuttle, mainly because the lack of folding wings was a turn off. Good for lego to design this 2019 version true to its movie version. And the selection of minifigs is definitely on my buy list

In my opinion the best value set of the new StarWars9 sets; they fixed the design, accurate colour, wing-movement + great new minifigs (Sith Trooper, KnightsOfRen). The price is fair for StarWars-licence. I hope for a UCS-Version in the future, where the wings fold actualy inside + a bigger interior/cockpit - In the LastJedi "Craite battlescene" Kylo + Hux actualy stand in a huge control bridge of the shuttle !!

If you bought both, you could probably fit all the figures between the 2 ( 9 in the original and 3 in the new one)

When I bought the original grey model after it came out, I was disappointed with the lack of wing function and the incorrect color. I am SUPER into legos and modifying the chassis and all that jazz, so I just took about half a day to change the wing function. Still had the color problem but hey? You know what, I made it work. AND NOWWW they come back and fix BOTH problems... ironic isn’t it... 😂😂 Oh and I’m definitely proud of this: FYI MY MODIFIED VERSION DID *NOT* LOSE THE BACK “TRUNK” SPACE; however I did have to modify the base of the wings a bit. 👌🏼👏🏼👊🏼
