I'm loving the integration of those power cells in the space theme. The two cylinders together being like a single power pack and being able to be removed without taking more if it apart. Plays well into the idea that they were placed with ease of replacement in mind like if this was an actual space vehicle. And the rear compartment being the spot to hold the explorer robot is a great touch too. If only they had included that on the Interstellar ship.

I want them all!! lol. Didn’t realize that the space theme was back! Love this!

I like the spread of figures among the sets. You get regular crews in all sets and there are 3 in my opinion officers. Which have darker-colored uniforms. And then the admiral coming with the big set. It is neat to see the different color uniforms return from the late 80s. That is the strong vibe it gives me. I used to love having the different uniforms like the black yellow and blue to have different roles to play.

Those pieces in front of the 4 studs for the seats look like it's designed to accommodate minidolls as well as minifigs without having to alter the build at all.

That makes very little sense, unless they plan on crossing over Friends with City (which sounds like a nightmare)

​@@BrickologyProductions well they are, the friends space base is compatible with the city space station and base. Along with the fact that the alien in the friends set is the same as the alien in the city 4+ space set its pretty clear lego wants cross play between the themes

I bought 4 out of 6 lego city space themes to display. All 4 of them are those you reviewed.

Agreed, the volume of good stuff to price feels great on this set. There’s 6 huge wheels and several other very large pieces, way more than you’d expect in a set at this price.

Pretty good set, I can recomand it when you get it for cheap.

i think the choice to add those minifigure leg holder pieces maybe be for lego friends compatibility as this current space theme spreads across not just city, but over dreamzzz, technic and friends and i think they're trying to promote some kind of cross playability between sets. The main example of lego promoting cross theme play in the new 2024 space sets is the orange ring connection piece found in some of the other space sets in City, Technic and Friends. Any set that have these round orange pieces are designed to be compatible.

It’s not a waste of paper for that first instruction booklet, it would’ve been the same amount of paper if they combined them

The covers and random images at the back would’ve been gone. It’s only a few pages sure, but feels pointless.

I am with you that this set have the similar vibes as the land vehicles in mars mission (that theme needs to return someday alongside power miners)

I like this variant more, personally. I like the focus on exploration instead of combat.

I Really like the look of this Rover, it looks very tactile, beefy and sleek. The colour scheme is also good the mix of white, black, orange and sand blue complement each other well a strong set like you said and i'll be getting it for sure especially for only £25 the size is great.
