Lego Battle of Otumba

Ойын-сауық

On July 7, 1520, 500 Spanish conquistadors and a few hundred native allies tired from fighting, met a large force of about 10 to 20 thousand Aztec warriors on the plains of Otumba.
Although exhausted, wounded and outnumbered, the
Spanish were able to drive off the Aztecs by killing their
commander and taking his standard. After the battle,
the Spaniards were able to reach the friendly province
of Tlaxcala to rest and regroup.

I really appreciate you making such a badass battle sequence out of such an important moment in Mexican history. Only issue besides the Tlaxcalans is that the Aztecs (aside from their Tlatoani) don't look very Aztec, I was able to find some pretty decent minifigs that look Aztec, but it might've just been cost if I were to guess. Great video man, your battles are really cool to watch

Just some clarifications 1) Aztecs don't used horns, bones or pokemon helmets, nor clubs neither. 2) Spaniards was at the defense the whole battle, resisting the aztec attacks. 3) The spaniards have their Tlaxcala allies with them in the battle. 4) The horse movement at the end of the battle was an audacy to killing the aztec commander and take their flag, that was as the battle ends. Of course, the information to do that movement was provided from the Tlaxcala allies. Your videos has going better with the time, more complex with better animation and more figures in it. Some times there is a lack of historical information, however, that has been improved too in the last ones. I hope you keep into that path.

  • @leonjimenez6769

The main weapon of the Aztecs was the "Macahuitl". Basically a stick with several obsidian blades. The Aztecs thought that horses and riders were one, they felt that they fought with a mixture of men and monsters. When the Spanish arrived with the Tlaxcalans, they were very well received because they thought that Cortés was Quetzalcoátl, which means "Feathered Serpent." The Warriors of that area had a warrior code for their "flowery wars". It consisted of going to fight and capturing all possible warriors to offer them as a sacrifice. The interesting thing is that the warriors protected the tail of their hair, because if the enemy touched your horse tail, they would automatically surrender and allow themselves to be captured. This fact was taken advantage of by the Spanish in the following battles with the Aztecs. While the Tlaxcalans were very happy that their enemies (Los Aztecas) were defeated
