Lego Battle of Svolder - Viking stop motion
Ойын-сауық
On September 9th, 1000 Olaf Tryggvason, the king of Norway, was ambushed by the allied kings of Sweden and Denmark with their fleet of over 70 warships. Olaf had only 11 warships, but instead of fleeing he decided to stay and fight. At first he and his men were able to hold off the attackers, but eventually, all his ships were taken 1 by 1. Rather than be captured, Olaf threw himself into the sea.

The cameraman is an absolute legend. First of all, he travels back in time 1,000 years! Then, he manages to get perfect camera angles of fight scenes, all while managing to not get killed AND stepping on legos the whole time!

I'm really impressed with how dynamic the movements of the figs are and how good you are at give their movements some weight! It's very impressive for sure! I really liked the last shot where he jumped of the ship - great splashing effect! Really cool! Thanks for sharing your creativity and keep up the good work! :-)

Dude, this is nothing short of amazing.
Wonderfull Sound, most animators have so-so sound effects but yours are spot on. Loved the crashing sounds where the ships hit each other.
This was a genuine pleasure to watch! Thankyou for creating this!
Every part of this stop motion is amazing! With the camera movement, the very smooth animation, and the range of LEGo figures all moving! With all the hooks throw around it must’ve been hard. With all the minifigures moving in every frame. Also with the stop motion being based off a true story! This is truly amazing!

These just blow me away. Astonishing work.
I discovered your channel with the outstanding video about the Bismarck, then I casually played back your previous shorts, to my growing interest and amusement. Even more than by the unbelievable quality of your latest creations (let's safely say, 2019-2022), I was astounded by the rate of your improvement since you began making your very first stop-motion videos: we can see a hobby morphing into craft, a goofy amateur with few, dusty, old lego pieces blossoming in a true master of detail with an array of tools that matches his skill. If one pays attention in playing your contents from the eldest to the most recent, he can clearly see continuous, minute refinements, video after video, until, seemingly without any drama or clue, is watching masterpieces moving on the screen. This video here is for me the turning point, your reached artistic maturity, for a million of small reasons: one for all, the absence of the akwardly smiling faces we could still see in the previous videos, replaced by a masterfully staged set of "lego-emotions". Then, the improvement in the screenplay: the reached ability to grasp the attention upon the action, no more upon the figures itself. Sir, you and the Artists like you are the only reason KZread should exist, forgetting all the useless, or worse, dangerous crap one finds here. I sincerely hope you read this message and be proud of yourself: your artistic voyage should inspire and amaze everybody else.
You make clearly the best stop motion here on KZread. It always looks impressivly awesome.
Another great video as always!
You never fail to make me happy with your videos, whatever the theme is!

I can't believe you found historically accurate lego viking helmets, you did amazing with this but perhaps my one criticism is that the men with swords tended not to have shields in this when the probably would've though I understand if you didn't have enough to give them

That was so cool
You should do the battle of Waterloo ,but sense the battle was so large you could focus on the charge of the french cavalry and the british form square. Or you could do the charge of the scotts Grey's as they overstep there charge after routing french infantry. And go right into the french artillery but get chased back by french lancers. Like down below if you would like either of these👍
