What I was basically saying is that you want to make sure the shake isn't too out of control and wild. It's important that you can still tell what's going on. By keeping the action in the middle of the shot, it helps to keep the shake in control. It's really just a matter of trying it yourself.

One of the best parts about your films are the smooth camera movements. If I ever make another Lego film, I'm sure it will be heavily inspired by this.

Good tutorial. I just already knew how to do that stuff. XD I just won't usually. I use shaky and pan sometimes. Hardly ever use dolly. Here's one other type of camera movement. Kinda like shaky just better for explosions. Shake your camera or tripod while your taking pictures. It looks blurry and like an explosion if you stay close enough to the main figures or sets section.

this vid is really useful in some way it's very easy to master it's just being patient to do it. That's why i love stop motion animation all together. How many shots would it take you to do a standard scene, and video?
@TouchbrickPictures14 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I've attempted the pan/dolly shot somewhat, I think, but never the shaky camera. I always figured it took more than that... I'll definitely have to start trying it. What kind of tripod do you use? Is it one of those compact mini ones, or is it a regular sized one? I have both, but I'd like to know which one you use to achieve that effect.

Webcams cannot usually attach to a tripod, and as stated in the tutorial, Tripods are very important in camera movement. So webcams probably won't work, however webcams can be good for close up shots, for example the deck of a ship.

I use the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 too, but I have a way of panning. See, I got a lego studios set that comes with a track made for the lego camera that comes with it. (Of course, I don't use THAT camera) So I duct tape the Quickcam on there and I'm ready to go! I haven't actually got a chance to try it yet, but I think it'll work! Also, with the Shaky Camera effect, there's a website called "NewBlueFX" and you can buy an effect for Sony Vegas (which I have) that makes it shaky in editing.BYE!
