I was surprised that LEGO still refuses to make brown 1x1 tiles for the train fans who like to ballast their tracks. Another awesome review sir.

Wow, I agree, that black background in the instructions is really strange, but I like this set! Thanks for the review!

Great video great set, also, I love to see the stopping and showing important parts of the build instead of a timelapse.
I didn’t know you’d have to hold the remote button down... I’m glad I learned that after I bought it. I still love the set
The amount of times I’ve re watched this...
I love that LEGO is releasing serious sets again. Also, Splendid and honest review!
Recognition for the lego train community!!!
This is the first review I have been able to seen of this amazing great job
The set is a must have and I need the powered up as well.
Oh my, it's huge!
can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so excited :)
I hope LEGO release more 18+ train sets, for example the Union Pacific Big Boy.

I think it looks great, I'd certainly be open to more real life inspired locomotives from Lego. I agree about the instructions background though, seems like a bit of a strange choice, but that doesn't detract from the model itself.

very nice toy, ilike, thanks for sharing@
Thank you review
I NEED THIS! also now we just need a Lego GG1 to go with it!
I've just built mine after John Lewis delivered it this morning. It's an amazing set and, I think, it's the best locomotive since Emerald Night. An absolute winner!
It is possibly worth noting that the prototypical locomotive is also articulated in three sections like the model. The main difference however is there are no wheels attached to the middle cab section, instead they are fixed to the front and rear ‘snouts’.
i love this set! hopefully i can replace the motor with a smoother one i have to make it sound better

As someone who is 18+ and the demographic for this set, the playability is a part of the selling point. I’d rather have something I can operate for friends rather than a shelf queen collecting dust.
Hi Racing Brick, yes you're right, the black on the instruction makes the images unclear, but I like it a lot. Together with the box, they give me a somewhat high-end feeling, the set seems very high quality. Great review anyways
Thank you so much, every time I see a new video I say, should I buy it or not? And if you make a review on it, I will know if I should buy it or not. So thanks
Dear Lego, please try and see if you can do a Baldwin RF-16 Sharknose set. I would like to see how you guys at the design studio could tackle the iconic design of the RF-16. I want to see more model trains like the crocodile in the future!
Great review and comments about good and bad things. Yeah, I agree it is odd that the instruction has a black background,. LEGO have a lot of testbuilders, (families outside LEGO System), that build and review everything on the sets - boxes, instructions building experiences etc. before it goes into production. And I agree that the 18 plus is to high.
I saw your video so I bought the set
Instant buy
I love this sert
Yes please show us how to use the remote with the motor in the same way the remote and the train motor work together, like the incremental way, I have a custom train I designed and am going to a big convention and dont want to have my phone out for the whole thing, thank you so much
Great review! Well I'm very confused about the black background for the instruction, in this particular moment where all are involved to reduce the pollution, a company like Lego use tons of black ink to print a book that is also difficult to read! And the other things is that use plastic for all the small bags to contain the pieces...why not to use paper??? Anyway the model looks good... I think that the hub and the motor are very expensive: to buy both you spent almost the same for the model.
Great review. Today I received my Crocodile. Believe me or not, one part was missing and it was the big flanged wheel!!! They are packed in sets of 3, but one bag was torn and only 2 wheels left. My locomotive looks like a 3 legged table now... I asked Lego immediately for replacement part and they answered really quickly that part is out of stock and guess what they wrote... "Lots of fans sell old LEGO pieces online, so you may be able to buy the needed part second-hand"... I am collecting and playing Lego sets for over 35 years and this is the first time anything is missing, and it is something so important for the entire structure... I am really disappointed. Not because of a packaging error, although it ruined all the fun from building, but more of the customer approach in the complaint department.
Thank you for the review! Good as usual... :) Will you mod it with Buwizz and buggy motor? xD I created a train program in PU with remote for a friend, and tbh: I like how easy and clean the "code" can be and that you can implement some extra features like changing the light of the hub, different hard/smooth break modes and display of the target and real speed. I realy hope the new update is released soon (it should have already been released according to your interview.... narf) and we can customize even more. =)

Lol, a train with buggy motor, definitely what we need :) I'm also looking forward to see the new update, within a week we'll have to get another update with the control profile for this set, so I really hope we will see the novelties in it that were promised in the interview
Awesome and unexpected set. I bought it inmediately as I came across it on the shelf of the toy store. Pity that you can’t use it with a train motor.
I think this set has the perfect balance between looks, and playablity. Do you have any plans to mod it?

Finally a train in original Minifig scale.
Are those "custom made"/old trucks you get in set compatible with standard LEGO tracks?
If I got crocodile locomotive, I would set this in a museum in the European exhibit next to the dinosaur exhibit. Even though it looks good with a motor in it, it is better on display.
Opened video because of the 10277 pcs LEGO set. OH shit, it is set number:D
Well, at least more prints than stickers. But, why wasn't everything printed? I didn't pay attention, were there also blue pins inside?
Hopefully Lego make the "Ol' Big RED" GG1
Does it also work with a Power Function L or M motor?

I also had a reddish Brown slope as a leftover! Not sure What they did there!
I don't know if this is still the case, but the old Lego Architecture sets all used to have the same black background. It's certainly interesting to see LEGO bring the color scheme back for a similarly "mature" theme.

The wobble of the middle part during turns looks... bad though D: aside to that lovely model and great video.
@racingbrick Have you discovered a way to speed up the Powered Up motor to make the locomotive move faster?
@RacingBrick
7 ай бұрын
Honestly I don't think this locomotive should go any faster, it will probably derail. If you want to make it more powerful you can try it with a BuWizz unit, or change the gearing.
Wer kommt auch aus Deutschland?😂😂 und versteht auch kaum ein Wort aber findet es trotzdem geil.😂

@RacingBrick

You can buy tracks on lego.com
Now let's make a Landwasser viadukt bridge for it!
One thing that bothers me about this set is the 3rd and 4th gauge axles aren’t supposed to be static under the cab and rather also swivel with the noses, according to the Swiss CE 6/8 II. Looking forward to seeing someone take a shot at making this set “more realistic”. There’s an interesting concept I saw a long time ago by a steam engine MOC creator where he swiveled the train bogie along a rotating axle to power a bogie. I could definitely picture someone doing something similar with this set with one motor for each of the noses. www.flickr.com/photos/steampoweredbricks/5272700291/

@@RacingBrick Well, I mean ripping the technic bottom that holds their big wheels and replacing one with the PU train bottom.
Either they use white paint or fill with black paint, both are expensive as hell.
Oh god 100 dollars, I might get it idk By the way, I think LEGO should make a theme based directly on trains or more trains in general

In principle I like this because it's an 18+ train (let's hope for more, like the glorious Emerald Night) and it has coupling rods!... but then methinks the pantographs are disproportionately big for the model, and the gap between the three sections is too big - although I realise this was necessary to facilitate turning on a curve. Still not sure whether to go for it or not

I’m going for it. If not because I love trains, but to show LEGO that we want more! If no one buys them...they won’t make them
