Legendary 'Highwayman' to be honored at San Diego Automotive Museum

There's nothing worse than breaking down on the side of the road, and no better feeling than when help arrives. In this Zevely Zone, I met San Diego's Highwayman.
For decades Thomas Weller went out looking for trouble so he could turn it into something good. At some point in your life, you've probably heard the story about San Diego's Highwayman who rescued 10,000 stranded motorists. Tom introduced us to his car. "This is Beulah. She is a one of a kind," said Tom.

Amazing man and service, he has stopped for my then 19-year old daughter stuck out near El Cajon. I will never forget his kindness and generosity, so glad we can recognize him and his car.

If anyone needs chains for their vehicle he still does chains in his garage! Just met him to get some chains for my truck, he is awesome.🤙

We know that this story was more about the man than the car, but it would've been nice to say, "his ghostbuster-looking 1956 Ford Country Sedan Wagon" instead of just "his ghostbuster-looking car."

I think Tom is stuck in a previous time warp. Back in his youth there were good people that would help a person out. Now days, with the advent of the greedy, intitled, 3rd world migrant, and other parasitic invaders going closer to 100 mph than the speed limit, you stand a good chance of getting hurt or robbed by stopping to help. I too have been on the road for 50 years and witnessed the transformation, so there's no way I would stop for any of these rude ingrates.
