As iconic as her music career was, she also deserves a huge amount of credit for speaking out about the domestic violence she endured--when it wasn't talked about much.

Having been born and raised in STL I was fortunate to see people like Chuck Berry and Ike and Tina. After Tina got away from that abusive jerk I came home one night, got on my apartment elevator and there he stood. Knowing what kind of person he was, it made my skin crawl. fact

Too many brilliant songs to list. No autotuned garbage here. She was sheer quality and had a stage presence like no other. It's heartbreaking to me that there must be people around now with her sort of stellar talent and yet look at the contents of Spotify and similar charts 😥. This is nothing to do with the genre of music. I listen to plenty of up-to-date music but none of it is in the charts. This is about the music industry investing in real musicians and vocalists. There are few of those promoted these days. Tina was one of the best. She was also a Buddhist like me and a wonderful caring person. (from interviews I've seen). RIP Tina and thank you for your music.

"I Can't Stand The Rain", "Better Be Good To Me" that duet with Bryan Adams "It's Only Love", a kick ass version of "Addicted To Love" "Proud Mary" and of course "River Deep Mountain High" There's many others of course, at 45 she had more energy than a dozen people half her age and that was 1984, I've seen her 6 times and was never disappointed and she just came out full blast and never let up for 2 hours, just amazing.

But so grateful she gave us the beautiful gift of Tina and her incredible music. To me she is the one and only queen of rock. She gave her absolute everything when she was on stage - this was when she rocked it and had us all in awe! Her live performances were electric, energetic enthusiastic and inspiring with an incredible amount of passion and harmonious that transcended all forms of music and her voice just made it sound like hers was and it was a pure, raspy and powerful voice. The likes of which will never be repeated and will be remembered from her many live performances and the recorded versions too across 6 decades !!??? To Miss Tina… May Tina managed to accomplish this profound practice of phowa, and die a good and peaceful death, And through the triumph of her death, may I be able to benefit all other beings, living or dead. Nam Myoho Renge Kyo om mani padme hum Also for those that choose a different path for their faith or beliefs I find this quote and a mantra that follows (I’m not able to transcribe it as I always have recited it in the native language) Buddhist or non-Buddhist, we all know grief. When we recognize that we are not alone, that this kind of suffering comes to everyone, we have an opportunity to sense our interconnectedness. There is nothing so tender as a broken heart. Both the breaking and the healing can help our love to grow. Perhaps these ideas can help your grieving friends. Thanks for being a good friend to them. Thank you Miss Tina for being the most generous warm loving person and so good to all those that were able to know you on a personal or professional level. All I can say is Thank You, you will be in my heart and chants and mantras that I will be using to assist you to the next chapter of your journey….. A legend. A strong woman, so iconic. Her life wasn't easy and the abuse she endured at the hands of Ike Turner was horrific. But she gave the strength to a lot of other women to walk away from abuse and not just survive, but THRIVE. She was simply the best on so many levels. Please watch the movie What's Love Got to Do With It. Angela Bassett plays her in the movie and Lawrence Fishburne as Ike Turner. Outstanding performances! RIP Tina and thank you for the music. That's why I want to mention her albums called 'Beyond' and "Beyond Children" that feature Tina along with 30 children from different cultures and nations. These children, along with Tina, sing spiritual music and mantras from various religions, such as Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, Islam, and Sikhism. It is the most beautiful and uplifting music I have ever heard in my life! This project was a remarkable shift in Tina's career as it was her first involvement in a spiritual project. So, I highly recommend listening to it, and I am confident that you will enjoy it. The aim of this project was to promote peace, harmony, and understanding between different cultures and religions through music. The children who participated in this project were selected based on their love for music and their desire to spread a positive and uplifting message to the world. The album has been highly praised by fans and critics alike for its beautiful music and message of unity and love. The songs on the album are performed with sincerity, passion, and respect for each religion's traditions, making it a unique and special experience for listeners of all backgrounds. God bless you Tina Turner rest in peace maestro

Such a legend. You have so many huge hits of hers that will amaze you. I always tell the story of when I saw her at Wembley Stadium for her last concert there in 2000. The stage had a crane arm platform that extended out above the audience and she went right over my head, leaning over the side of the little basket she was dancing in to point and wave at the audience below, and for one brief moment I made eye contact with her as she smiled down at us from above. She put everything into her performances.

Tina Turner was a one of one, a blazing talent that shone broad and long and carried her from the most humble of beginnings to a fairy tale castle in Switzerland. Her life has ended, but her gift will live forever. We were blessed to witness her in life. RIP. ✌️

Tina was an absolute force of nature. I am blessed to have attended 3 of her concerts, and each had the same energy, even when she was in her 60s. You guys hit on her R&B that she was known for, after she left Ike and started her solo career she made it known she wanted to do rock and roll, she wanted that energy. A lot of people told her she was too old, she proved them all wrong and as you mentioned, became the QUEEN of Rock n Roll. Long live the Queen, forever in our hearts.

Even though I knew Tina was ill, her passing still hit very hard. She is so much a part of my life, from the first time I heard her sing River Deep Mountain High in 1966 on the radio when I was 11. I saw her on TV perform Proud Mary when I was a teen and became a die hard fan. I was so ecstatic she reappeared in the 80s after a long absence and go on to become a superstar. Grateful to have seen her live 3 times. She tore up the stage with her voice and dancing. Love, love, love Tina. A huge talent and a resilient woman who rebuilt her life after terrible abuse, inspiring a legion of women to do the same.

One of my idols. A master of the stage. With a vocal that can cut through. Tina Turner. I think you have to go back to 83-84 and her Master class of music. Private dancer. There she's gives you a great song after song after song. It has Private dancer, what's love got to do with it, better be good to me, Steele Claw (my favorite), I might have been queen, I can't stand the rain and Help. Go back and listen to raw power of her voice. RIP Tina Turner

Tina Turner is a great music icon whose music (and legacy) will live on and on and on! Several great songs from her include (among very many great songs): Two People, I Don't Wanna Fight, Better Be Good To Me, When The Heartache Is Over, Silent Wings, Break Every Rule, I Can't Stand The Rain, and Private Dancer. All the above are great songs to react to! The song you've just played is actually a favorite of mine, and I enjoyed listening to it for the umpteenth time. Thank you for paying tribute to Tina Turner, and have a very blessed day!

Tina's longstanding musical director/guitarist/vocalist on tour was John Miles. Their live duets are worth a look, especially their version of Otis Reddings 'Try a Little Tenderness'. John's solo hit from 1976, 'Music' is a classic and worthy of a reaction

You have to listen to Tina Turner's "One of the Living" from the movie "Mad Max, Beyond Thunderdome". She won a Grammy for "Best Rock Female" for that song! Also, "I can't Stand the Rain" is Tina at her best!

I teared up listening to this. I feel corny about it a bit...but this woman was such a LEGEND. It seemed like she would be with us forever. When my daughter was about 8 years old.. back in the 90's....I introduced her to a lot of stuff I grew up listening to...and she got hooked on several artists...her favs being Zepplin, The Doors, Aerosmith, and of course...the late GREAT Tina Turner. She absolutely LOVED listening to her music and when she was old enough, finally got to see the movie "What's Love Got To Do With It" and she ended up buying the DVD...and to this day she still talks about that movie. I still cannot believe she is gone. Such a hit to the gut AND the heart!!
