    It's not easy to talk about the business boring stuff, and not have people's eyes glaze over. And this is where Anna's brilliance makes a world of difference. I really love this series.

    When making a business, my largest concern when taking out loans or capital is that if the business fails, I will have little to no way to ever pay it back. Some debt spiral that I skillfully dodged for college I could get caught in with business.

  • @LordOfTheBing

    @LordOfTheBing

    4 жыл бұрын

    Wrong. That's what bankruptcy is for. If the business fails, and cannot pay back its debts, filing for bankruptcy allows the company to default on those debts. Liability being limited means they can't get to you personally. Getting the same situation without a business to cover you through bankruptcy means they could take everything you own. But filing for bankruptcy is also regulated, and banks are only likely to give a loan to the company if the capital (ie, liability limit) is large enough to cover it realistically.

    I don't have all the info on S corps, but I do know that one of the key features is that, unlike a C corp, they're limited to a certain number of shareholders (I think 100) maximum.

  • @GoogleSheetsFanboy

    @GoogleSheetsFanboy

    4 жыл бұрын

    S-Corp and C-Corp are very similar in the way they are taxed. Both are doubled taxed. That is why most businesses start out as an LLC. Then if they want to go public they usually go with C-Corp. The perk of going S-Corp is how you are able to pay yourself and get away from some taxes. If you talk with a certified public account, they can usually tell what would work best for you when it comes to taxes.
