JUST TO CLARIFY MY CRITIQUE ABOUT THE LEGS: I never said that this figure's legs are longer than any other figure's. I'm aware that these are the same legs as the earthrise Prime (with some remolding). The thing is that Laser Prime's Torso is in fact shorter than earthrise Prime's, not by much, but that bit of length makes a difference and makes the length of the legs more noticeable (to ME at least) whereas it wasn't that noticeable with earthrise Prime. It's not a deal breaker, I don't hate the figure because of it, just pointing out something that was noticeable to me. You guys want my thoughts and opinions on these things, I give you my thoughts and opinions. If you agree with me, cool. If not, cool. It funny how, out of all the new parts, he still has that useless trailer hitch from the Siege mold. I kinda hope that as long as they keep using parts from WFCT Prime that they keep that hitch? It's like a trophy scar at this point!

@@phantomstyx7556 In truck mode, look at his right leg. The knees folds out as part of the transformation, and the right one has a 5mm port under it. That was the Siege version's trailer hitch. The Earthrise version added a normal sensible trailer hitch in the center of the two legs, but kept the Siege one, and Legacy has done the same.

A Transformers fan admission: I literally drove to every walmart and target within 50 miles of me(7 stores) twice a week(M-F) plus twice more on the weekends (Sat &Sun) for 5 months trying to buy this Laser Optimus Prime. Finally, it took a 4 hour out of state drive to a Target to get him. My wife and family thought I was crazy. And you know what, it was worth it!

Actually the eyes do have light piping but somehow the back plastic is painted. Hold it against a proper light source and the eyes light up beautifully. Quite a weird choice from Hasbro but eh.

Most of us are hoping for a Scourge and/or Toxitron redeco.

This is such a better figure than the titans returns figure

I don't mind leggy robots, I'm used to Gundam (they're like 90% leg). Speaking of robot proportions, isn't it weird that robot limbs are the inverse of human limbs? On humans, the upper part of both arms and legs are bigger and slightly longer; on robots, the lower parts are bigger and longer.

I have the scourge version of this mold and if you paint the “hip” sections black it makes him look much better. And I’ve never noticed that transformers had inverted proportions. That’s really interesting.

This might be where Michael bay got inspiration, can’t blame him though

The flames on laser Prime came from the RTS deluxe in 2010. Originallt it was just a red to black gradiant. The flames in the truck were because it helped the colors end up in the right Primey places in robot mode

I *need* a Bay Prime legacy repaint.

Got this one on pre-order, and in anticipation I went and ordered the Selects G2 Megatron. Add in the Selects Ramjet and Sandstorm, Siege covert clone Sideswipe, and Legacy Jihaxus, and we got ourselves enough toys to make for a wave of G2 revivals.

I love the just taking this video as an opportunity for shameless praise of the weaponizer gimmick (which frankly I wish I'd gotten into, they barely stocked them here and I could never afford to get more toys then the ones I most desperately wanted) Also chuckled SO much at the end skit

I finally got hold of the Scourge version of this mold, I love it. Thanks to your video I was able to transform it without looking at the instructions, lol

I can't wait for Scourge. This looks so well designed! Except the trailer, which seems like an afterthought.

Just got mine in yesterday and it looks great. I used Slammer as weapon attachments on base mode and I feel his color scheme is the most complimentary to the trailers colors, he looks like he blends in with the base mode naturally. IMHO

Watched this video and bought laser optimus and cogs immediately thank you! Great video.

yay options, I just bought my Legacy Lazer Rod Prime today. I connected that tanker to Siege Prime and with those hardly visible armored wheels he now resembles a military Deuce tanker, something I saw frequently in the U.S.A.F

I recently got the Velocitron Speedia 500 Scourge figure, and its awesome. Can't wait to ad the Laser Prime to the collection

We've gotten a few great Primes lately and this is one of the best. Looks great in both modes, solid build quality, and a great trailer. Just wish there was more of him as in a bigger figure. When in truck mode, the cab by itself is about the same size as legacy Arcee's motorcycle.

Glad to see it looks like the legs tab together better than Earthrise. Can't even use the trailer with my ER Prime anymore because the legs separate too easily. I'm amazed with how simple the transformation seems it would be, based on how the modes look, but it's actually rather involved. It looks fun! Clearly this guy's gonna get a Scourge repaint, but I have to wonder if it'll be slightly retooled to be a Prime universe Prime as well. He's got the shoulders and truck mode already, soooooo.

Looking forward to Toxitron, that's on the way using the same mold. He's funky looking

Didn't snag this mold until they released Toxitron. I just love the color deco on that one. Just popped in for the transformation and the skit. The skit killed me. never stop doing skits, Emgo.

Just got mine today thanks to my younger brother and decided to use Cog the same way but used the silcer chest as the tower gun and on the left i made use of a spare Titans return headmaster and gun from the other G2 Prime to make him man the cockpit

I just got one of these recently, love it, unfortunately he came without kneecaps, but its because he showed up to the store selling him without said kneecaps that i got him 10% off, so minor issue but still works and i love it

That notch on the sword hilt will be for the combining weapons stuff. I wonder if you can peg it into Bulkhead's shoulder?

They reused Earthrises legs on Laser Primes with a little remolding, which might be why the legs look long.

Earthrise trailer on G2 Prime, high levels of Dark of the Moon vibes going on there. I saw just the other day a rerelease of G2 Prime as part of the Legacy United line so I thought “I’ll get that at the weekend”

Anyone else getting the feeling that all of these transclearent weapons are going to combine into some super weapon or even a robot of some sort, especially with those "hands" with blitzwing

I love what this Legacy series is doing, taking beloved characters(1-2 from each TV series) and re-release them in NEW or PREVIOUS molds. To give LIFELONG fans some nostalgia and introduce new fans to the history of transformers.

Ironically after saying I would probably wait, we had a Legacy Laser Prime show up at the local walmart. Box was crushed as hell, but he was decently discounted so it was hard to pass up. Everything came out of the box undamaged so I take it as a win. Also the axe can kinda work as a arm sized buckler (small shield) if left partially folded.

I really want this, I heard it’s out in some targets so I’m obviously gonna look for it. I’ll get him one way or another!

Can't wait for the Nemesis Prime/Black Convoy repaint.

Doing some careful messing around I found my Titans returns Voyager laser Optimus Prime gun and it fits perfectly in the hand of the new laser Optimus Prime's hand or at the very least less snugly than the weaponizers.

I'm laughing at the axe storage. "You can't attach the trailer with the axe stored." It looks like, and is positioned like a fifth wheel, which facilitates attaching trailers to trucks :D How did they miss that one little bit of functionality? EDIT: I should clarify, by 'they', I mean Hasbro.

ngl if they included a small weaponizer (or like an energon-infused version bc that's what they're doing now) to liven up the trailer like you did; and it would also make it worth the price imo

His shoulder pads look like speakers, bringing the fight music with him.

I really like this figure, my only critique about this figure is something i hope DNA labs can fix in a future release is that laser prime's hands are a bit backwards in terms of the earthrise/kingdom Optimus prime figure to which he had hands that can open and close. I bring this up because it takes a bit of force to get Laser prime's weapons into his hands (at least for my figure). Plus give him a head that has light piping. cause i think his eyes had look like that they had that function once

Great review as udual, tho I wish you'd compare him to the Titans Return mold, if you still have any of them.

Honestly, really love Legacy, especially once wave 2 was revealed. I may even like this more than WFC.

Wonder if we'll see a repaint into Scourge and a retool into Movie Universe Prime. Also there were TF "Knowing is half the battle" PSA's they were even unlockables on the TF PS2 game.

I do like this toy but I like Earthrise Optimus being the main Optimus in my collection. However, I've never bought a Nemesis Prime/RID Scourge repaint so I'm going to hold out and wait for that to get released since that seems like a better fit for this mold anyway.

I'd always thought this was the best Figure back in the day to come out of G2 (Besides Megatron of course) Most of the other toys are sadly repaints of G1 figures so for Uniqueness This was a real cool Optimus Prime figure back in the day.

Not bad. Tiny torso, but an interesting transformation. I'm hoping for a Scourge/Nemesis repaint.

Great Review. Total missed opportunity to make the trailer AIRLOCK compatible though. If so I would have purchased it.

I think the annoying tab might fit into the notch on the handle of the Axe maybe?

This figure looks amazing BUUUUT for me im sorry but i will wait for the rumored legacy black convoy/RID 2001 Scourge that is supposedly coming to walmart(hope in true its real cause then i can use it as nemesis prime's earth node)

At least some legacy toys still compatible to the WFC Trilogy toys like the weaponizers.

Personally (please don't rip my head off) I'd take or leave the rear trailer, since it only transforms into a turret thingy instead of transforming with Prime. So mulling it over on whether or not I wanna spend £50+ on the figure

I definitely like this Primes head a little bit more than Seige and Earthrises especially the Battle mask I've always preferred the more cartoons plan basic mask as opposed to a over detail or even just detailed mask same thing goes for my feelings of Earthrise Soundwave over seige

My figure's head ball joint was so tight that the head wasn't socketed correctly on it with the front of it left unglued and slightly undone(as if the person doing the ass embly just gave up). After forcing it on like it's supposed to I took the opportunity to paint his eyes with tamiya sky blue paint before putting his face back in place. Other than that the figure is great.
