LEGACY CHALLENGE WINNING BUG SCAM DECK! Sultai Grief - reanimate control MTG
I play a Magic: the Gathering Online Legacy League with dganev's Legacy Challenge winning BUG Scam deck. This deck has the classic Grief-Scam combo, but has more tools to execute a longer game via Uro and Witherbloom Command as well as potent green sideboard cards.

Round 1 you could stifle the bowmaster trigger instead of countering the reanimate and have force of will up if you draw a blue card.

It's incredible you could play mana denial against lands.

Was a really fun deck. Have you see the Scam deck that transforms into Death's Shadow post board to dodge GY hate? That seems good

I have been very impressed with Pick your Poison (say over the 2nd Force of Vigor) as it is so efficient and killing a Murktide and or that 4/4 Scion Dragon has been great.

I think an uptick in Scion decks will make it seem better for sure. I think my issue with it now, is that it's often bad for hitting specific artifacts as those decks tend to have many, so you end up in a spot where you are worse off than if you had more force of vigors. In other match ups where it gets to be a removal spell for a flier, it certainly looks better. Just depends what trade offs you want

@@crucible_of_words my initial thought including pick your poison is another removal for delver that could be used against other decks since I don't like dismember against a fast deck as delver. the same about brazen borrower in the main deck. the deck felt low on answers to murktide before that

@@KasumiFoxYeah, I can see that, thinking of it more as an answer to flying creatures with additional text when mapping out the sideboard.

T1 G1. Your hand is amazing. Why you waste a Ponder? Play Mana pass --> either Stifle the coming fetch or Cycle Troll are just amazing play. And also.. what are you looking for? You don't even know your opponent first land

I was looking for a reanimate or something to apply pressure, if my opponent was a combo deck, I needed a route to ending the game as just disruption wouldn't be beating them. Holding up Stifle is fine, but cycling a troll in the blind is very dangerous in legacy atm with the prevalence of UB scam style decks, giving them a free monster to reanimate that they could defend with Dazes and whatnot. I think it's best to ponder there and set up something proactive rather than hold up a stifle, when stifling a fetch land isn't necessarily what I want to be doing in a lot of matchups anyway. I think Legacy right now really pushes proactive plays rather than reactive ones.

@@crucible_of_words well, stifle is twice stronger against a fetch in a not cantrips deck.. Anyway I get your point, but I would have played 100% stifle the first fetch, and only after that, I would have played Ponder looking for reanimate or another stifle. If you find reanimate in T2 you have also the mana to cycle troll without the risk of oppo reanimate. If you don't find either Reanimate or stile, you can fetch for Surveil land. Tbh it seems to me a better line, in particular because the stifle gets worst after T1-T3

@@giuseppesorrenti9203 I think Stifle is better in legacy than it has been for a while, since there's a bunch of other stuff it can hit now compared to previous times, so it has some nice use down the line, but I'm still happy to pitch it to Force. I think either line definitely has pros and cons and it would be nice to go back and try the other line to see how it pans out. I'm also a lot more pro-active with cantrips thesedays due to Bowmasters and wanting to get them down early. Maybe I'm just traumatized from a Mox Diamond powered Turn one Bowboys that got me recently lol
