Oh noo i feel for you, I've bought the same rod myself and love it so far.

Just bought one of these rods hoping it doesnt break like this it seems a good rod but if there known to break i might buy a different rod

I know loads of these that have snapped its where the glass tip connects.

I have the MK1 n had it 5 years and never had problem,and I cast 6-7oz all the time, good rods,not sure bout newer ones with glass tips

mine did the same on a m-sport elite I'm gutted love these rod's but there is definitely a folt with them I got hold of leeda & no reply not happy

Oh man i feel for you. i was lucky i had mine replaced by the person who i bought it from as he was a trader/shop. i lost total confidence in these rods and bought a century instead

Why are the eyes on the tip section bent I feel for you good luck

They are different type of eyes which are from.a different type of rod section. Leeds supplied a wrong tip section

Less Rings and bigger diameter means they have sent you a fixed spool model, that's the only difference.

they have given you an older model the new elite versions have the newer guides . yes leeda have these glass tips on theses rods and clearly the quality is not good enough on the manufacture when the rod is made .the glass tips are really supple but then bend into a stiff section are which is clearly snapping near that point of action transition . i work in a tackle shop and be honest i have a elite match mk3 and only use 3 oz on it for light fishing with braid as i feel the glass tips just cannot handle the work required when using heavier weights. leeda really needs to get rid of the glass tip section and sort out a more reliable top section otherwise anglers will just not purchase them as the word will get around

Yes agree, i will never buy a Leeda again! Have heard tooo many reports of these tips snapping, so far Leeda have replaced the whole rod with a normal carbon tip but im not risking it again.

I have a pair of the Elite Power rods, Mk2, never had any problems with them and that is regular use over the last 2 years, I generally pendulum cast 6oz weights, I have heard a few stories about breakages but I think that happens even with top end rods, maybe not as much though, for the money I reckon they are spot on

Had an old model m sport power and broke at the same spot using 4oz

Damn man feel for you, did you get it replaced by Leeda? I will never buy a Leeda rod ever, heard alot of these rods snapping. Tip i got originally was wrong, it had fibre glass tip and Fuji KWAG, the replacement is the right tip which is Seaguides, and non fibreglass tip... but non the less the rods up for sale ive lost total confidence in this make
