That plus the diss on Ledian type combo not being that good, one of those reasons being it having a double weakness to Rock, and the diss on it having Iron Fist, which isn’t good since its Attack stat is super weak and is also its worst stat made me go in favor of Plantern. Ledian did still have good disses, though.

My favorite Johto pokemon vs my favorite PvZ plant. Amazing. I don’t care what anyone says, these two are the goats! For a suggestion, maybe Piranha Plant vs Chomper?

Genuinely just became one of my favorite rap battles of all time, the bars are just so smooth and the visuals are just so clean. The beat is just so nice and calming and the match-up. Simply just amazing overall.

The vibe of this matchup is unmatched. It is hard for me to explain, but it is such a calming battle, yet gets me moving when listening to it. The main draw for me for this battle was the amazing artwork. I commented on this when you teased it in the community post. But goddamn! This art is genuinely some of the best I’ve seen in an FRB Community Rap Battle! This month seems great so far! We either got a sign that this month is going to be amazing, or we just peaked already! Amazing work Triple! Not only that, both Rose and GP64 did amazing and captured the vibe the battle was going for perfectly (highlights are the Pulseman Reference [based af reference btw, glad I am not the only Pulseman fan!], the whole night fall bit, the green light bar, and Ledian making reference that’s it is a movie star in the PokeDex.) The writing is fantastic, I could name many bars I enjoyed if I wasn’t heading somewhere soon. Please, keep up the amazing work! 💖💖💖💖💖

What a masterpiece. I applaud you for being able to make random matchups like this one work (I interpret the connection between these two as both are weak/useless creatures of nature with a connection to light and night; Ledian uses the stars in the night sky as a source of energy, while Plantern emits light and can illuminate dark and/or foggy areas). This is a relaxing rap battle that still manages to balance aspects of rap in a good way. Both of the performers did well in their respective performances and there were some standout moments in this battle (such as the well-written “green light” line, the near-immediate diss on how Ledian, as it is an insect, would naturally be vulnerable to getting close to light sources, particularly bug zapper lanterns, the “Night falls” quarter of Plantern’s first verse, the clever reference to Ledian’s type combo not being a good one (mainly about its double weakness to Rock), the Blover reference/diss, the reference to Ledian’s role in PokéStar Studios, and the diss on Ledian’s fists throwing weak punches, which can furthermore tie into its basically useless ability Iron Fist (keep in mind that its Attack stat is its lowest base stat at 35), and the ultimate win here for me is to Plantern, but it is a bare one. Excellent job to everyone involved and I hope for more great battles to come.

One of your best battles, the visuals were really nice! I also liked the voice acting and flows from both characters and the beat is so great. All of it comes together to make a really nice atmosphere!

A rap battle I never knew I wanted, but needed

This battle is such a great chill vibe. I love the beat, and the characters flows and lines are really catchy and somehow make me root for both at the same time. Personally I’d go with the unpopular opinion and say Ledian won. He had a lot of unique disses, and lots of them were good too. Like others said, Plantern did a lot of self-hyping, but he still came with some good disses, but I’d say Ledian was able to take the win here by a fair amount. Great battle overall! You deserve more recognition!

You’re not wrong with that last sentence and to add to that, Trip has already created quite a decent amount of rap battles with Pokémon characters, and this isn’t just limited to the Pokémon themselves as Silver and Colress also have been in a rap battle each. Also, I’ve previously never heard of Rosenthal (I initially thought it was Mat4yo who was voicing Ledian until seeing the info card notification) and can tell you that I consider GamingPlush64 to be one of the most multitalented individuals in the FRB community.

This may be unpopular, but Ledian. He had the most balance and had some devastating roasts, while Plantern was more focused on building himself up, which ironically made his rap less impactful.

I’ve seen one of their replies to a comment on another one of their videos saying that they wanted to use two particular characters in a battle, so I’m guessing that’s the case here too. However, if I had to list a connection, my guess would be that these two have something to do with the night sky (Ledian being known as the Five Star Pokémon and Plantern illuminating dark areas) and/or are involved in films in some way. Edit: Another connection between these two are that they’re both effectively useless in the games they appear in.

I’m currently giving the win to Plantern; he nullified at least one of the things Ledian said, not to mention that I think Ledian’s ending lines for each of its verses feel like repeats of one another (and I prefer the second of the two disses by the way).
