Led Zeppelin, the worlds greatest blues and rock band in history! John Bonham, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant... all master class artists! John Bonham was the drummer, and there will never be anything like him. All drummers try to compare themselves to Bonzo, few meet the measure. There are so many songs by Led Zeppelin that I love, so I won't name them all, I'd just point to whole albums. However, one of my fave-faves is "In My Time Of Dying", which is a cover of another blues song. Hits all the right notes. I also love "Kashmir", "Immigrant Song", "Rock And Roll", "Black Dog", and the quintessential Led Zep song: "Stairway To Heaven", which literally is rated by many as the greatest song in rock and roll ever.

That's pathetic. Minnie was born Lizzie Douglas in 1897, she was a dirt poor rural Black American in Mississippi. You talk about "light years"? The great flood of 1927 saw the Delta region covered in deep water. Food supply was cut off. The white relief workers held back food rations only to the Blacks who labored each day building new levees. Lizzie Douglas and many others finally migrated away from the South, to Chicago or Detroit. Lizzie became Memphis Minnie, writing over 200 songs, and being early electric guitar player, yes a woman. Minnie was Light Years ahead of where US society would rather she stay. All the British and Yanks took to study the Delta Blues, but Jimi Hendrix had it inside him. That's the difference. Yes, great studio cut by LZ, who had technology on their behalf.

Thanks for pulling the Led out! 🙌🏼💕. Quite honestly, I cannot recall when the first time was that I heard this particular song. All I can say is -being the youngest of six kids and growing up in the 70’s, I got to hear a wide array of music and Led was playing when I was a toddler on the FM rock stations everywhere.... ‘IT’S TIME TO PULL THE LED OUT!’... HAHA. By the time I was 12, Led Zep was hands down my top favorite of all rock bands and to this day, no one’s beat ‘em in my book. Their constant masterful change ups in tunes, mix and blends of hard rock/rock/blues and folk, and their top swag stage presence during their peek years in concert (several years) is unbeatable. Unfortunately, I was too young to attend concerts when the drummer passed. 😕. There are so many top tunes to choose from and top live performances, I can’t choose a favorite but if you liked this song, check out Album version of SINCE I’VE BEEN LOVING YOU ORIGINAL ALBUM SONG / LINK: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gJOgtaxmYKrSZ7Q.html 💎💎💎 And see how well they played live in concert - it will blow your sock off! I'm not sure what kind of blues this is based on (Mississippi delta blues?) but it's a 70s English band's take on the blues. It's rooted in black American music.

Recorded through an echo machine. As in a quote by the recording enginer in a book he wrote about it. Even the voice part is run through the echo.

Back in Michigan, my local news station, WZZM 13 put together a video for this song with footage of the flooding from the Mississippi River in the early 90s. And they used the entire song, very unusual for a TV station.

This song, the last on the fourth album, just kills. It's about 50 years old and still sounds relevant. That alone makes it clear that they were very ahead of their time.

An amazing tribute to the results of societal competition! The 'Baby Boomers' were so numerous their generation ended up with a huge competition pyramid, when it came to the arts. It was such a highly stacked filter, only the amazing came out the commercial end. The '60s and '70s saw huge musical innovations in popular music.

I don't know if you have ever seen any of the "Live From Darryl's House" episodes. Jam sessions with older, classic R&B and Rock's greatest musicians at Darryl Hall's (Hall&Oats) home with dinner and some great story telling included. Only on the internet-- I started by watching the episode with him and the "OJ's" and loved it so much, I was up all night on the internet checking out the other episodes of "Live From Darryl's House". Great show-- wish it was on regular network TV.
