This song was Robert teasing John Paul Jones. When they went to New Orleans on tour, they would stay at the Royal Orleans Hotel and they loved going to gay bars to watch drag shows, etc., because they wouldn't get hassled there like they would going to regular clubs. In the song, the lyrics imply someone bringing back a girl - with whiskers. In an interview he gave to Mojo magazine in 2007, Jones clarified the reliability of this, stating: "The transvestites were actually friends of Richard Cole's; normal friendly people and we were all at some bar. That I mistook a transvestite for a girl is rubbish; that happened in another country to somebody else ... Anyway 'Stephanie' ended up in my room and we rolled a joint or two and I fell asleep and set fire to the hotel room, as you do, ha ha, and when I woke up it was full of firemen!" The "John Cameron" mentioned was a rival of Jonesy's from his session days.

I think this may end up being their favorite? The tiebreaker may be the long but excellent "Tea For One." If they feel impatient listening to its slow groove and deep plunges into Jimmy's tender guitar licks, they may end on a bad note, so to speak. My hunch, however, is that they will be blown out of the water by and have nothing but respect for that epic blues tune.

Please do the whole catalogue. You have ears toward the foundations of the band (JPJ and Bonzo), which remains strong on the last two or three albums. They have less flashy and less well-known hits in their later years but you will appreciate their musicianship and the evolution of their sound.

They have been going through album by album to this point. They’re lovers of music…they get it. Great reactions.
What’s crazy is that this album, including the hundreds of guitar overdubs, was recorded in only 18 days!

Bonham grooves are legend and mandatory!!
My favorite album by Zeppelin ! It’s bad as !!!!
This album rocks. Next album up is The Song Remains the Same (Live Album) Get ready to have your mind blown La and Che! Zeppelin is the best live band, bar none.
This is where prime is guided style on the guitar. That's what happens when you're A great band people like to sample from it
What a low key funky groove. The heavy hitter is next and I can’t wait but I’m most excited for the reaction to the finale track 😏
This is by far their most underrated album! There's really no bad song..

If fact, it might just be one of their best (for us Zeppelin junkies🎶)
Received this album for my 14th birthday back in '76. Been rockin to it ever since!! Gotta love Zep.
Funny story for me and this song. I got into a fight and thrown out of a pool hall many years ago for playing this one to many times on the jukebox. What can I say, it was my jam and I felt I could run the table when this was on and often was able to do it. Anyway love the Zeppelin reactions. Still my favorite band!
No boundaries is spot on! That’s what makes them who they are. The GOATS! Many more surprises to go. Can’t wait for you to hear Tea for One. It will take you back.
Lol. Zeppelin always bats 1.000 in my book. Nobody’s fault but Zeppelins for that, speaking of which… 🔥
From beginning to the end, this album just rocks. No filler. No posing. Best listened to in it's entirety, as this song is a nice little diddy that leads into another monster track NOBODY'S FAULT BUT MINE.

Love watching you guys discover all the great artists I grew up on, I can see that you truly appreciate good music! PLEASE, PLEASE give a listen to Thank You from Zeppelin, it's my favorite. Thanks, and have a great day guys!
Once again bonzo just drivin that back beat. Beatin drums like they owe him money
50th anniversary of the live MSG shows this weekend, recorded for the "Song Remains the Same" film. NYC, July 27-29th 1973!
one of John Bonham's biggest influences at this time was Ziggy Modeliste who played drums with the New Orleans band The Meters ... y'all should check them out & you'll easily hear it
Awesome "VANS" shirt! Great reactions!
Fabulous song
Page playing like he’s in a funk band! Oh that’s right he was 😉!
Next up is the best song on the album (IMO) - Nobody’s Fault But Mine. It’s the reason I bought the album back in 1976
Yeah this album is probably peak led Zeppelin! Peace!
Pure rhythm section and lead guitar jimmy and bonz own this album
Remember when people said this album sucked? Lol they were wrong
I think this is one of Zeppelin's funkier tunes, and records period!! Ode to JPJ's night out with someone special haha...
Much respect for listening to this album. It is my favorite Mighty Zep record. I once read an interview with Jimmy Page where he said that he thought it was his best work
70s funky music & Kool song
I love royal Orleans and hots on for nowhere...pages playing on both is tasty as hell
Something about the rhythm of this song. This makes me want to give a shout out to you guys to look into Jeff Beck’s album “Wired” - amazing.
My song off Presence. Such a great tune and album!
This song is about a night in New Orleans after a show when JPJ inadvertently picked up a transvestite, thinking it was a woman. Legendary Zep craziness. "Whiskers!"

LOL LOL LOL 😆
I'ma presume a bit here: Che's "tells" are more subtle, I'd say, but we know for sure that La LIKES a song when he's boppin' his head. It's when he SHAKES his head and even adds an eye roll or two that we know he REALLY DIGS it, lol! Like, say, here: 2:29
I started to listen to Led Zeppelin in the late 70s, but haven't listed to them for a couple of years. Your great reactions and analysis have 'Led' me back to Zeppelin. Same thing with Black Sabbath. Great reactions and great dynamic between the two of you. Btw, next track is one of their best. Also you should really check out the live version of No Quarter from the Song remains the same. JPJ, Bonham and Page on that track, just magic. Almost Fusion.
Here’s the thing even Zeps weaker tracks would be most rock groups best. They are simply better than any contemporaries.
I love this album and it doesn't get enough props but Pagey wrote the music, produced and mixed the entire album in 19 days, definitely a guitar album and he was really inspired..you will love Tea for One mate! Btw Bonzo love Motown and funk and it's basically what he loved listening to so he had a huge influence on this track
This is hard funk, complete with James Brown 9th chords.
Hi, enjoying all your reactions, I knew this album would blow you away, every song is a masterpiece, three cheers to you two thanks
what a track , just finished teaching my daughter how to play this .zep knew when to leave a hole in the mix for a few beats so it adds to the drama all my best to you and yours from Liverpool

They write their own boundaries and create new and great rifts that only they could think of or perform. First hear and a great toon right off the get go. thanks guys
Sorry guy's best voice text. What I meant to say that 1 part? That Jimmy Page plays, that's where Primus. That jimmy plays on the guitar
This is one of the most underrated rock albums in history, mainly because of the egghead know-it-all, failed English professor wannabe rock critics.
Always loved this song, a little hidden gem. There's another deep track nugget I love on side 2, along with a couple heavy hitters. I'm sure you'll love them.
I've been looking everyday to see if you've gotten to Nobody's fault but mine... for me it's top a 3 Zeppelin song
Royal Orleans a famous hotel in New Orleans, Led Zeppelin enjoyed staying there, the band also indulged in some unspeakable activities during their visit .
Wait till the next song ..
Wore this album out!
That was funky. 👈 You both just reacted to one of Aerosmith’s songs from the Rocks album called, Nobody’s Fault. Next up on this album, Zeppelin’s composition with the same name. Be warned, it’s hard not “funky.” 😉
Love the Barry White line!
Bonham was getting even better in the later years
Am I the only one that can see James Brown dancing to this music? Led Zeppelin had been in pursuit of that funk groove from their 2nd album. I think they finally got it with this song.
🤘🤘
Hope yal doin great today😊 Sup from Kentucky❤
Hey, Bros, I was waiting for you to get to this one I know you liked it.
Nextup is "Noboys fault but Mine" best song on album.........Plant on Harmonica is sick ...sounds like Little Walter on harp
That there is some tricky azz FUNK yo!
❤❤❤❤❤👍🤙
I Love when they get their funk on! Can you imagine Chaka Khan’s vocals on this?!
This song definitely has a groove. funk rock🤔
This sounds like something Les Claypool and Primus would cover. Page is the man
Wait till u hear the next cut!
The Riffmeisters.
The next song...

Yeah, i think they'll trip , in a good way, on Bonzo's drums and Jimmy AND Robert's solos, and that cool "off-rhthym" interlude thing that occurs twice with JPJ and Bonzo.
Hey Guys. Try this one day. Johnny Cash "when the man comes around"
Presence is generally down the ranking list for a lot of people. Not me, but of course, I rank them all at #1. One big tie.

Completely agree. Zeppelins studio albums are the equivalent of a an art gallery hung with classic art - something to contemplate for every hour and day of the year.
Getting the led out with the bros!
This song has a funny back story. They were in New Orleans on tour. JPJ got HAMMER DRUNK and slipped off for the night with a transvestite (no offense, everyone needs love), so Plant wrote these lyrics as a subtle goof on JPJ! Whiskers! Lol
Led Zeppelin is by far one of my fave groups. This album if I had to rank in their 8 album catalog would be number 8. Not that it’s a bad album, just not as strong as the others. I did wear out the 8 track version of the album to the point where I had to shim the 8 track with a match book so it got plenty of play - Panasonic with a Kraco amp and Jensen speakers in the 68 Camaro.
“N’Olins queens sure know how to schmooze it; and maybe for some that seems all right-but when I step out & strut down with my sugar, she best not talk like Barry White!”😁🤣😜
How would you like to be 14 years getting this album for you bday and have your friends come over, party and crank this?
It takes at least three listens to some music to even know whats up and whats down. 🤙🤙🎼🎼🗽🗽🙂🙂
