I would say he’s far more advanced a rock fan than I was after listening to this song hundreds of times… he instantly picked out the Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis threads. 😳😄👍
Helene here. Bonzo had gotten totally frustrated trying to get the drums down the way he wanted on a song called Four Sticks (you haven’t heard it yet) when he just spontaneously started laying down this beat from an old rock and roll song. Everyone else started jamming with him….Plant came up with the lyrics on the spot, making references to old songs that we all knew at the time (Been a long time since we did The Stroll…Been a long time since The Book of Love etc.) and it all came together in a few minutes. A happy accident.
When you start listening to a Led Zeppelin, it’s like handing them that your brain, and they take it on a musical journey that you’ll never recover from
Zeppelin is Timeless
Helene here. When you do get to Kashmir….you will maybe take a first listen just for the vibe, because it’s ONE HELL of a vibe. but then, afterward, take a look at the lyrics. Because they’re beautiful….and deep. And then watch it live …..2007 O2 reunion……because it’s fucking amazing. Robert Plants voice, at 59, was still incredible. Hell…..it’s still good at 74.
Love your reactions!! Yes Kashmir is a must. Also Achilles Last Stand. I guarantee it will blow your mind. For me it is the Led Zep climax. It will be a great journey. 😁
It's Kashmir we keep asking for and we don't mean anything by it. We just love the song. Keep on Rocking Mark!

One of their very best Is In My Time Of Dying. Worth every second.

Mark, most of know where your coming from with your love of music, it's healing power and no one can take it away from you !!! It's Yours !!! We just love the way you enjoy it so much and knowing you will share it with us....
When I was at Uni in the 70s, and this was released, we would go back to the room with the record player after a long night in the bar. We could generally play whatever we wanted, unless we put on 'Led Zeppelin IV ' ( it has no title, but most people call it 'IV' or 'four symbols' ) We NEVER got more than halfway through 'Black Dog' [ track 2 side 1 ], but usually part way through Rock 'n' roll people would be banging on the door - and they weren't banging to be let in! Miserable bunch of ........ This is a MASSIVE statement to open an album with.
Imagine being in Madison Square Garden in the summer of ‘77, dancing around to this! I did twice in one week! I’m an avid Zep head!

Welcome to the universe of Rock
Helene here. Mark, I’ve listened to/ watched this song a thousand times, and I STILL got a chill or two watching you react to it. Your enthusiasm and joy makes me hear it through your ears and your joy is contagious! . What’s really ironic, is this was never a favorite of mine until I started watching it being performed on KZread…..and the energy of the band when they played it made me appreciate it so much more. Now it’s one of my faves.
"like Johnny B Goode" ABSOLUTELY the point of the song (old time rock and roll)!!! You got it in 2 seconds...well done...

I remember as a teenager waiting at my local record shop to get Zep IV on the day it was released. Seeing you react to Rock and Roll for the first time takes me right back to that day. Thanks Hector.
Hey Hector, same group but more prog songs, try getting either "Kashmir" or "The Song Remains the Same" or "The Rain song" (slow but gold as a Sunday morning next your love) or even "Going To California (Live at Earls Court 1975)" that will make you dream. Or, for more trippy sounds, No Quarter
Created spontaneously in the studio after Bonzo started playing Little Richard's "Keep A'Knockin'," Zep created and recorded this song within 20 minutes.
I remember back in the day of my late teens going to the pub and putting this on the duke box. It used to annoy the fuck out of all the really old boys. I've always loved Led Zeppelin. Great reaction as usual.

arguably the greatest rock album ever released! theres this, black dog, stairway and when the levee breaks on this album!
My Hector head banger, definitely a chair dance, now my grandkids think I’m weird, like I thought my mom was. And I’m loving every minute
Zep usually started or ended their concerts with this song. The live from MSG ‘73 is great….Jimmy does a leap. Very cool. This was also the last song of their encore for their Celebration Day London O2 concert in 2007. Jimmy, at 63, did not leap that time. 😏. If you haven’t watched anything from that concert yet, Hector, you should. It is superb.

That was the best reaction, YOU ROCKED OUT!!!!
1st up; you nailed it when you said Johnny B Goode and Great Balls Of Fire, because that's what they were going for. In their own way of course. 2nd: this is one of Zeps most over played song. But hearing it through your reaction made it brand new again. Rock on brother.
Just checked to make sure I was playing back normal speed. By the time I checked you reminded me, how excited you actually are. FROM THE SECOND YOU STARTED, I'VE HAD A SMILE ON MY FACE DANCING WITH YOU. GREAT REACTION ❤️
I think we’ve won you over to the “dark side.” 😂😂😂 I’ve heard this track countless times, just had knee surgery and still was dancing from couch during your reaction. If you don’t bop to this, you must be dead 💀

Dude, I am so glad that someone that is at least half my age, is hearing these tracks (Purple, Zepplin, Sabbath) for the first time. You can imagine how we felt in the late 60's early 70's when the holy trinity of rock began releasing their music, thinking back it was AWESOME.
.definitely my favourite song by Zeppelin. I have always loved this. It just makes your body first start out tapping your toes until it makes you entire body start to move like crazy. Thats how it works for me anyway. Thank you for doing this reaction on this song. I love your energy. You are seriously someone I would love to hang out with listening to some fine tunes.

The quintessential Rock & Roll song. If you grew up in the 70's.
I can hear the next song on this album, "The Battle of Evermore," a terrifying Lord of the Rings war song. A completely different style of music and definitely worth a listen.
straight up rocker this, the live version from sydney 72 is INCREDIBLE, roberts voice is out of this fucking world on that 1
ROCK ON!!
In the words of Monty Python…”and now for something completely different “. Boogie With Stu by Led Zeppelin from Physical Graffiti. The first time I heard this song I remember thinking WTF was that!!! It sounded like a ragtime band playing in an old west saloon while a huge bar fight is going on. It’s Zeppelin having fun so much so that you actually hear them laugh at the end. You probably won’t get a lot of requests for this song because it wasn’t one of their monster hits but any Led Head will love it. It’s a fun change of pace.
Great song. Great reaction. #ZepHead

68 years old.... Just found out or realised in the last 2 years since losing my wife that I'm autistic. I think she unknowingly protected me from my deeper self. Masking and hiding who I was and putting on a front had become the norm. Music like Led Zeppelin and pink Floyd, deep purple, black Sabbath and Uriah heep kept me sane(ish). I've seen them all live apart from Floyd (my one regret in life) I love your enthusiasm and your enjoyment of the "classics" Best wishes, and carry on being who you are 👍👍👍

One of their all time monsters. This is your tenth Led Zep to date. And you've only touched on 4 of their 9 albums, so you've got a huge amount to come. You've only dipped a tentative toe into LZ III. If that's not enough, 'Physical Graffiti' is a double, so twice the bang for your buck. Sorry for the bean counting ,you've got your problems - I was a scientist, and we count and tabulate EVERYTHING.

I am 64 years old. I grew up listening to all this music and by the way, I love NF, he is the only rapper I will listen to. But, there is nothing like rock music from the 1960's to the 1970's. It is timeless. I will give you a list of artists, the songs don't matter. They are that good. You have all ready discovered Led Zep, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, CCR, Jimi Hendrix. Keep going with those bands. But when you have run the gambit, may I suggest Yes, Rush, The Beatles, AC/DC, Aerosmith, The Eagles, Genesis, Eric Clapton, The Greatful Dead, ELP, The rolling stones and on and on and on.
