Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world.

Jason did an admirable job filling in for his Father, given that he was on stage with 3 of the greatest musicians to ever walk the face of the earth. For the uneducated, it is hard to explain the greatness of Zep. When Bonzo was alive, they were the undisputed kings of Rock. Each a great musician in their own right, but put the four together and the best music ever made came alive. So glad I got to be here for the whole ride!

I wish they would get together and perform again😢 At this point, I would spend my last dime to fly straight to the site of this legendary band. I love each and every member, including Jason. I have listened to EVERY song that has ever been released, even those secret ones and the earlier songs by the Yardbirds. I cannot explain my obsession, but I think my most favorite part is the way Jimmy and Robert play off one another. Jimmy can play something and Robert will come up with a way to make Jimmy's licks come to life through his voice and then next thing you know, Jimmy will imitate Robert. It becomes difficult to tell who is leading who and I just get lost in the beauty of it all. And then they'll smile at each other and I just melt into a puddle.

Ahh shit ! There will never be a live band this good again.
People always complain they didn’t do more gigs but doesn’t it make this one that much more perfect? Robert Plant always said he wouldn’t continue without Bonzo, but agreed to this with Jason for Ahmet Ertegun, and you can clearly see at 1:36 he’s loving being on stage with Jimmy. No horrible break up, no horrible replacement when Bonzo died… just rode out into the night and reunited for this showing that they’re still the absolute pinnacle of music. They’re not my personal favourite band of all time but I think they may be the greatest 4 musicians ever assembled
What an epic bass line! JPJ sounds truly fantastic!

Not true! They didn’t come along till after Beatles had disbanded. Beatles opened all the doors, yes ALL the doors. No Beatles = no LED Zeppelin, Bowie and just about everyone else, yes including Stones and Floyd
Fun Fact: Zep set a Guiness World Record with most ticket requests in a single day with 20MM requests for tickets.
Thank goodness John had a son...I don't think anyone else could fill his shoes...

Only in the sense that the other 3 band mates are routinely mentioned in as contenders for the greatest of all time. JPJ really when it comes down to it, was likely the most talented of the 4.

@@johnanderson7739 Now define what "most talented" does mean to you ? By what criteria ? In the same vein - was Jack Bruce the most talented one in Cream ? And there it would be a closer match.. I just think this pissing match is absolutely useless... Why cant people enjoy those great bands for what they did together as one unit. But no... this one was more talented.. what a load of BS.
Ramble on was released in 1969 (more than 50 years back) - reprised here 37 years later - and still remains a powerhouse to this day ! RESPECT
Very Powerful !!! I've not seen or heard anything that comes close to the chemistry of these fine artists !!! Pure Magic!!!

Epic.....Page, Plant, Jones & J Bonzo JR......Just fricken Outstanding..!
My favorite bass line... ❤️ Hard to upstage Jimmy but JPJ did it on this one. A monumental Zep song on every front.

WHAT a band. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Tried my hardest to get a ticket (like millions), i only live a hundred miles away but!! The same at Knebworth in 1979. Still I've got the memories.
One of my very favorite Led Zeppelin tunes from one of the greatest albums of all times.
This performance by all 4 is a masterpiece. You can see the joy they all have at doing this together, and doing it right. you can feel them saying "all right you young punks, move over and let us show you how its done!" i get the same feeling when i watch the Cream reunion.
Plant's voice is one of the few that stayed great as he aged. Pure from jump!

This song has always been one of my favorites from Zeppelin. Thanks.
thank you, thank you, and thank you!
They were the perfect storm bass, guitar, vocals and Drummer Hell Ya They Rock!!!!
No matter how crappy of a day I've had I can always lose myself in Led Zeppelin music. Doesn't matter if it's original recordings or performance recorded 38 years after their first release.
JPJ the glue for Led Zeppelin
I believe they said when they did this song during the concert, they felt they were back in the groove. They had mixed feelings if they could pull the whole concert off. This song was the catalyst.

WOW!!!!! Would pay 4 figures to see these guys. Amazing
The base line is kick ass. Lead guitar, drums, vocals. I mean damn. This is over the top kick ass Led Zeppelin that has aged really well. I started listening to Led Zeppelin in the early 70's as a teenager. This is outrageous and perhaps much better than the original. These old men are like fine wine and just get better with age.
It’s a pretty simple recipe. When you have the top 5 lead and bass guitarists, insane drummer and someone on vocals with passion u get Led Zepp
... The lead solo ... Jimmy pulled it off ...after 27 years ... and with suave and swagger.. ... he is and will always be the lead guitar player, among rhythm ... ahem... the Virtuoso
"Oh sometimes I get so tired....but I know there's one thing I got to do...Ramble On"... says it all!!!!!!
