This song is Robert's growing sarcastic cynicism with the LA cocaine/drug scene and the rock scene in general. You can hear the weariness in his voice. He said it was a dig at someone he knew and cared about and how she was getting deeper and deeper into drugs. It's in the lyrics; "And she said, 'Don't you want it, don't you want cocaine, cocaine, cocaine?'" and later in the song when he sings "On the balance of a crystal, paying through your nose." you can hear a loud snorting sound. As I said, this is a very intense album where the cracks of dissatisfaction and disillusionment are really showing through.

Spot on. Of course. 😘👋. And more than a little pissed off with Jimmy and his drug use, and the crunch of the contractual deadline they were under. Presence is right behind Physical Graffiti in my favorites list. Each song is unique, perfectly structured and performed. Great use of space. Next song, Royal Orleans, uses it nicely as well. Page's use of the whammy bar in the rhythm and lead creates great tension and energy. Also note that the bend and stretch of Page's guitar is echoed in Plant's vocals. These songs are evidence of the continued growth and mastery of the band in their playing and song writing. The four masters strike again, hard.

Since this is your first time ever hearing this song, I *have* to recommend at least one serious listen to the entire "Presence" album-- ideally, in one sitting, first track to last. "Presence" is not one of the most popular Zeppelin albums, but it has some of Page's and Bonham's greatest playing, and JPJ is on fire throughout the album too. "Nobody's Fault But Mine" is thunderous, and "Tea for One" is a great, haunting, slow blues song that is one of the lesser-known gems in the Zep catalogue.

You guys are just so fun to watch and listen to! As I said in another comment, you get the little things, the nuances that add up to greatness. And I just love how you have been celebrating how amazingly versatile Led Zeppelin was. I remember standing in line at a record store in Houston, that stretched around the block, to get this album when it dropped. And when they came to Houston for their tour, fans overwhelmed all the ticket outlets and they brought firetrucks to spray the crowd and stop them destroying the record stores (who sold most concert tickets then, just as Ticket Master was getting big) but they couldn't stop disappointed fans from trashing them because the tickets sold out in two hours. TV stations were freaking out and the mayor even commented about the radical young rock fans needing to be contained. And they literally destroyed several Tower Records stores in Houston and other cities-- I never made the connection or thought about it, but that may be why record stores stopped selling concert tickets and let Ticket Master take over! Ahhhh, good times! You guys keep up the good work you're doing! I love you guys! You were born to do this!

Kind of funny that the band got their start by finishing off the obligatory scheduled shows as the Yardbirds before changing their name and later releasing their self titled first album. The appreciation you guys show for the songs generally and specific parts of the songs specifically is wonderful. I've listed at Zeppelin since the mid-80s when I was a teenager and discovered their music through a friend. I went though a long period of exploring other music, but now that I'm in my 50s, in a way I've rediscovered their music, and today, I hear it differently. I'm able to appreciate it more for the truly masterful musicianship, and the KZread reaction videos have further helped me love them more deeply by seeing other adults discover them and immediately catch on to what was special about them. Using words like "the best" is a very loaded and is subjective, but if I were pressed, I'd have to agree that they were certainly endlessly creative, always evolved in their sound, consistently surprising and dynamic...and had "band" sound. So....yes...maybe they were the best band. Led Zeppelin was a band in the most true sense. Each were masters of their instruments, but together they were magic. Not one single person could be replaced without changing everything that made them special. Keep going through the albums. You have lots and lots of more gems to unearth.

It's one of the most underrated Zep tunes. I always wondered why this didn't get the airplay like most of the other tunes. It has all the elements of a hit. Great song!

Gregcrowe, I respectfully disagree with you. “Not good”, really? Not great, I can kind of understand. But not good? I side with these two brothers. They really know music. But again I respect your comment.

In fact, Presence ,the complete album..is underrated....stop..period...
This is a favorite on mine. I love how they let this song breathe. In places they play minimal music and there are touches of hardly any sound. Just adds to the groove or funkiness of the song.
I always loved this song.
LOVE this song. Plant’s push-pull with Jimmy’s guitar. The whole shebang. You guys gave it the reaction it deserves. Thanks!

Excellently stated
There are many certainties in life. One of them is that you CANNOT sit still while Zeppelins grooving!,❤
Aren't you guys glad you decided to keep going? I know I am! Love this track!! Is there such a thing as "Progressive Funk Rock"?
Often overlooked album. This album rocks, swings and grooves with dare I say a touch of Jazz?Bohnam is the foundation holding it all together as usual. JPJ the secret sauce on top of the foundation. Page & Plant with the texture. Just Led Zeppelin it. “Tea for One” is like “Since I’ve been Loving You” part 2 without the angst.

Love Tea for One. Just pure sadness, longing and loneliness.
Love the synchronized head bobbing to one of Zeppelin’s best songs from one of their best albums. You’ll enjoy the rest of Presence. It really is different from their other albums.
So looking forward to... Nobody's Fault But Mine ...and Candy Store Rock!!
The way that Page makes that guitar sound like he’s detuning it is just something next level. They actually performed this for the first time for their O2 reunion show.

It's a whammy bar

It’s indeed a whammy (I think he plays a Strat on this tune) but what’s cool is the way he pans it from speaker to speaker (kind of like the descending slide riff in Whole Lotta Love). That’s a typical Page production move

Those long notes are so beautiful.
You guys are having the same reaction that we did back in 76 or '77 when this album first came out. The first song is Achilles last stand and from there through the rest of the record you knew it was just next level led Zeppelin! The whole album.! Y'all have a great day! Peace!
That's a Crispy Creme Donut right there. Right out of the oven. So warm, sweet and creamy. Such an underrated tune.
See how you guys pick out each members contribution so infacticly. That's the true sign of a GREAT BAND!
This is my favorite Zep album of all time.
Just when you think it can't get any better it does. Still a lot of great songs to come
In my top 5 Zeppelin songs....that's saying alot.🔥🔥
I think one of ZEPS best songs. Enjoy how much you guys respect this material. Thanks and take care.
Genius's, no doubt! No one else sounds like them!!!!
Hanging it out over the edge, and snapping it with a time warp back beat. Mozart, Led Zeppelin, equivalent, but completely different. Basically, genius.
I forget how great this song is, your reaction reminds me, thank you
GENIUS
Probably Zeppelin's heaviest album, and the only one without any acoustic guitars.
I commented on your Physical Graffiti end song that Presence was killer, glad to see you witness why. Apex Zep here gentlemen.
Just wanted to thank you for being the first to react to one of LZ's hidden gems, it's always been one of my favorites.
This song Crush Crush Crushes! Killer bass/drums, smoking guitar riffs, deep ass vocals.
Could have or maybe should have been the 3rd disc on physical graffiti. Gotta love that snarl eh?😊
Top level!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
The farther down the rabbit hole you go, the more you realize what geniuses these guys are. The more you listen, the more you understand.
Cool fact Jimmy page recorded all the guitar solos in one gawd damned night for the entire album. Keep that in mind listening to the rest of this album.
When they played the final show with Jason sitting in for his Dad, this song was a request Jason insisted on. They had never played it live.
Such a different sound. Love it.
The Presence album contains many truly great Zep classics, underrated, without question. And yet, somehow to me seems jut missing something. And I don’t know why it is or even what it is. And I don’t want it to be this way. At all. Yet, it is.
This is the first time i have heard this song!!!! Surprisingly. I had y'all on just regular play on my laptop speakers. HUGE mistake. You were talking about a killer bass line by JPJ, (BTW- my favorite member of Led Zeppelin, He is a MUSICAL GENIUS!!!) So, I put my headphones on and was BLOWN AWAY.... The regular speakers of the laptop do not pick up the BASS. JPJ is Killing it on this track. Congrats, great reaction. Another classic by Led that is going in the rotation of my playlist. Thank you.

I love how u guys get it!!! You will never anything like it again!❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

yep agree 👍
Yeah this is some next level led Zeppelin! That presence album the whole thing is like this. Funky just progressive as hell. Peace!
And you guys thought of not listening to the whole album. Chirping away like brothers with a bowl of ice cream. I would play that song 3-4 times in a row, that's right walk over pick the needle and move it back 4 times 😊
This was one of my favorites. Always keeping you guessing. This album was so underrated. My sis and I wore this record out.✌️🎸🎶🎼
I told you it was funky. They find grooves I didn’t know were capable. I think they did this song live at the 02 concert in 2007, and that’s the only time.

didn't take me long to solidify my belief that the are and always will be the best to ever walk this Earth
Keep going guys! The rest of this one then "In Through The Out Door". A lot more original stuff to check out...
Underrated masterpiece.
By far my favorite song on Presence.
All right bros! My fav song off Presence. Said she was my only with my lemon in her hand, indeed! This song cooks! Three for three again today! Were for sure on the same page!
I knew you guys would appreciate this album.
Thank you for all your Zep reviews, I really look forward to them.
No clunkers on this album. One great song after another!

im lukewarm on candy store rock.... that and whole lotta love may be my two bottom ones in their catalogue
Love that you guys are listening to Presence. A very underrated hidden gem. Love what your doing. If you get a chance you have to react to Song Remains The Same you will not be sorry keep up the great work.
Yeah definitely a tight groove. JPJ & Bonzo are in lockstep. Very few musicians today tackle this correctly **I saw Angeline Saris & Jeff Campatelli jamming at a show with friends do this quite well** but I saw Zep back in the day in Oakland and they were quite special
That is a SLEAZY groove!! Gritty/grungy jam!
Glad you did'nt skip this album?👍👍
As a 16 year old bass player who cut his teeth on JPJ and The Lemon Song...and thinking that was as good as it gets... album after album I soon realized that #JohnPaulJonesIsTheGOAT in my book ... Great reaction guys...thumbs up and shared.... gt
You will be very glad that you kept going through this album so underrated
Love how you are rediscovering the brilliance of the grooves. I'm so used to them i kinda forget how amazing the groove is
You guys are just so fun to watch and listen to!
Kudos for reacting to this song! For me it's one of their most heavy hitting, funk groove, in the pocket songs. And Page started using a Stratocaster on this album with the whammy bar for those deep dives. Bonham and JPJ - best rhythm section in rock music ever.
You’ll notice this album has no keys, strings or acoustic guitars. Their most straightforward album. This is Jimmy Pages album, while the following album In Through the Out Door has keys on every song. That is JPJs album, with almost all the songs written by him.
Love it! They always come up with something new!
This was my favorite from that album. I wore out a few turntable needles listening to this.
Kind of funny that the band got their start by finishing off the obligatory scheduled shows as the Yardbirds before changing their name and later releasing their self titled first album. Supposedly their name came from a comment from Keith Moon of the Who who had stated that the band would go down like a lead balloon and from that they came up with Led Zeppelin.
This is so freaking hardcore! They’re all just showing off. It’s not fair!❤
I think they were trying to intentionally do something here, like a dance track maybe..?? I know they liked hanging out in Disco's and Dance clubs and that was becoming BIG in 1976. Always loved this one.
This has become one of my favorites from Zeppelin!
They all put on a clinic, This album has Page's most emotional studio solos IMO.
Presence giving Presents. Great reaction!
TRULY the greatest rhythm section in rock history.
AHhhh!!Another Beautiful Day for This ol Rev!!!!Diggin Zep w/Brothers La&Che is the downright Religion I Need!
This is a cool song, unappreciated by most, glad you liked it!
Jimmy and Bonz getting back to the rock😮
Top level indeed!🖖🏼
Thank you for being so eclectic with your musical tastes. If you could please check out a very underrated guitarist Rory Gallagher. Would love you guys react to Philby. Live or just audio he is considered to be one of the greats in Blues Rock and has a very soulful voice.

Thank you so much!! We will start with the studio version and then do the live.
This tune rips! Nobody’s Fault but Mine is also one of my favourite tracks on this album!
I'm glad you're continuing with LZ, since I'm hearing songs like this that I've never heard before!! Love this song, it's so different.
2007 live reunion concert version is my favorite. Would be blocked, but worth your time to check out.
The rhythm section is everything...
I first heard this song in high school. I was waiting to buy the album. And the guy who played it, he played two more songs from the album and I was blowned away! I bought the album in that same week!
Multiple separate grooves on this song.
the celebration day version of this in 2007 live is so sick, with jason bohnam. Worth a watch, you get to see Jimi page in the flesh
One of my favorite Zeppelin tunes!
Lots of time changes and different things happening in this one. Took me years to appreciate as much as I do today because of these sudden changes in direction. A fairly ambitious Zep song!
Enjoy, 'Presence' is my favourite Led Zep Album.
they do this song at the O2 arena gig and its the best song of the night. This song is underrated.
One of the best reactions ever
This and Driven to tears in the same day???!!!! Shit is happening on this channel. Love it!
Wait until hots on for nowhere. Maybe my favorite of all their groves
Pick a song any song from LED Zeppelin. Love them ❤
This my favorite album by Led Zeppelin !
Thru you guys I'm rediscovering what a great album this is! Thanks!
Hey guys, exceptional reaction as always! The mid section riff with the solo , makes me think of Godzilla stomping and destroying the city. Am I the only one that thinks this would be a good monster battle song? It's just freakin' nasty...anyway thanks guys for continuing down the Zep rabbit hole. LOVE YA!
