Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world.

Much like a beautiful woman is just as beautiful without makeup to the man that awakens beside her, this live performance of these 3 instrumentalist & a vocalist is every bit as special to most of us. In many ways more so BECAUSE its imperfections. The imperfections make the emotions that are part of the appeal of this performance more "real".

I remember seeing them in concert in Cleveland. Their first album had just come out and people really didn't know that much about them. I sat down in the front row just talking to people. There were only about 200 people in the hall. All of a sudden the lights went down and the curtains opened and there they were. They broke out with Communications Breakdown and I was awestruck. They were so loud that the sound was pushing me back against my seat. I couldn't take my eyes off them after that. They played that whole first album that night and it's a night I will never forget.

Then I would like to propose people like: Ginger Baker, RIngo Starr (yes you will be surprised but he is in fact a very solid drummer when giving him several listening proofs), John Bonham, Keith Moon, Bill Bruford, Stewart Copeland, Gene Krupa, Mitch Mitchell, Neil Peart, Lars Ulrich and because he is a fav of mine, Scott Rockenfield.

It's like a treasure trove finding shit like old Black Sabbath concerts, those black & white Bruce Springsteen "Darkness Tour" performances (young Bruce was such a phenomenal guitar player, 100x better live than on records), etc.

I don't think any other band can ever surpass led zeppelin. Every detail about them is phenomenal . Each one of them is the best in their own art. And i, being a singer, consider plant as the greatest singer ever. It was pure destiny that these four guys met and formed a band. This is THE perfect band. BEST BAND EVER.

In interviews he's often said he was never great at remembering lyrics, it would take him a good amount of play throughs to get them stuck in his head. There was always a lot of improvisation going on anyway so I don't think anything's lost in this performance. I love this whole set, so stripped back, no production and just raw🔥

I was 2. But I grew up a major fan. Saw Jimmy in 85 when i was 18, with Paul Rogers, in Austin. Kick Ass!

I am the one who has now discovered these great creators, then I was not born yet, and now they are tearing my soul apart - sick, exhausted, tired

I met an alien in a dark alley one night. I said, "Led Zeppelin Rules the World!" He replied, "No my son. Led Zeppelin Rules the Universe."

Been listening to this song on repeat for the last week. Beautiful ups and downs in intensity. The gritty, the smooth, soft and loud. Robert Plant is a master ❤

Plant has such a brilliant talent for acting out the songs - all of his emotions seem so genuine and powerful. And his voice!!!! Oh my God.

Robert Plant was so damn hot back in the day. It took me nearly twenty years to finally realize this. His voice is soo masculine, too. If only there were more idols like him these days. Looks PLUS an immense degree of vocal talent.

One of the best live performances I have ever seen. People there didn’t know that they witness history.
