I wonder if this supply will work with a ham radio amplifier...my amplifier draws 10-12 amps when the mic is keyed, so temporary loads.. I ordered a 12v 20amp one for $20 so if it dont work I wont be out alot...

Hi i have a switching power supply 12v 30a (360w) if i adjut it at 10v will it be able to supply 36a? For more info when i ask it to much amp (on 12v) the voltage drop to have a maximum power of 360w. Thanks. So, to resume if i adjust it at 10v will it be able to supply 36 amps ?

Can you link the two 12 volt outputs in parallel to double the amperage and increase the length of led strip you can use?

the ground/earth wire for the AC input is to ensure the outer metal casing of power supply will not have electricity flowing through it, just in case one of the other two AC wire shorts oN the metal frame .

Hi, I use 3 led strip, 2 white and one blue( each one 18w ) for my aquarium lighting connected with a 12 v, 10 amp power supply. Will this dimmer (12 volt, 8 amp)work to reduce the light intensity like the way u connected it with the power supply?? Plz reply. It would be a great help for me. Thanks

In your video you said you didn't follow the colors for wiring the dimmer but rather looked at the connections and matched them. However you actually did follow the colors and this should always be done when wiring anything for 110V or 220V. It's a safety issues because those colors are standard in this country for residential and commercial wiring. You don't want anyone to get hurt or catch something on fire because you used the wrong color in the wrong place. The problem is most of us associate black wires with ground wires. However in a 110V home electrical system Black should be your positive/hot wire. White is "Neutral"/negative. Green is ground. "Neutral and ground are kind of the same thing. In a 220V system both black and white are positive/hot wires and green is still negative. On a 12V system black is typically negative/ground and red is typically positive/hot. This is not always the case though. But if you only have two wires and one is red and one is black it's more than likely that way.

Why did you hook up the ground, then bypassed it when you plugged it in the outlet? Also the first wires you hooked up it seems to me you made white _ and black +

The first wires he hooked up was his 110/120 input. In AC, black is live (hot) and white is neutral. In DC, ordinarily, red is pos and black is neg. If all you got is black and white, might as well stick with the plan. If black is your AC hot, make black your DC pos.

Can't the power supply V_Adj be used as a dimmer?

How would you connect the wires from the strip directly to the power supply without a dimmer?

with this power supply is the source amperage divided between the two outputs or do they both have equal current supply? If you hook up two light strips to the power supply and one has a bad connection or burns out will the other see the rest of the total current output of the supply getting double the current? Thanks

No it will not. Amps are not force fed to the source needing power to operate. Amps are available. Think of it like money. I might only need $1000 per month to live but having more available won't hurt a thing. It just means I have extra just in case I need it for something else. If you don't have enough you'll have problems too. Not having enough is what pops circuit breakers. If the device plugged in is trying to consume more amps than you have available and will cause wires to heat up and the system to burn up. It's over working it. However voltage is different. Voltage is force fed and no this absolutely should not double the voltage just because you only have one thing wired into it. That would be dangerous and I don't believe this would be permitted for sale in this country if it did that. I hope that helps clear things up.

How about my wire is only one green and the 2 wire is brown collor how i check tha live wire

I tried using the same setup but it made my power supply very noisy sounded like it was overloading it so I could not use it

+yadielcla This requires 120V AC input. You could probably run the LEDs directly from the onboard electrical if they are 12V DC.
