Could the Music BE more 1980s'? Gosh, I can't get over how this AMAZING soundtrack is grossly overlooked and undermined by today's bare attempts at recreating the vibe aside from the fantastic movies like "Bumblebee" and masterpiece shows like "Stranger Things." Goosebumps all over my body from the nostalgia and style! This is REAL video game and 1980's music! Props to Tim Follin!

I love the ZX Spectrum version. And I can't believe it was originally called Mad Gear

I own the Spectrum version myself (okay, I got it on ➿ and 💾) and think it is fantastic. There were two “Mad Gear” versions if I remember correctly, one was Japanese and the other had English text.

Who knew that Deep Purple had worked on the Commodore 64 🤣 Seriously, I wonder how they got away with using that riff but actually at the time whatever was happening on the home micros was almost completely under the radar of mainstream media.

On Commodore 64 is it for me the best one. Smooth game play and great (punchy) music.

Love the Deep Purple riff on the C64 port. Never came across this game. Definitely a take on Bump 'n' Jump but without the bumping option.

Saw the title of this vid and could hear the Amiga music in my head right away!!! Of course, being in NTSC land, I hear it faster. Still one of my favorite games I was terrible at (partially because it played too fast, partially because I am not that good). ;-)

Software Creations was quite bold on the spectrum. Sure, let's do differential scrolling ! That tune on the C64 version. Tim Follin killing it again.

The arcade shown is Mad Gear the japanese version of LED Storm which has different vehicles and graphics that doesn't match the ports in the video. The CPC port hasn't any scoreboard or table which is rather weird.

You’ve used the wrong arcade game. The computer versions are ports of LED Storm Rally 2011 which was the arcade prototype, it’s playable in MAME. The one you used was the one that was eventually released and is different. You can see the correct one here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/o5-Ks6uaZ5u5Zs4.html

One of the CAPCOM video games (pre-CPS/post-Megaman) taht don't have home console ports, but instead to home computer ports (brands came from USA/CAN or European-originated for European consumers, also applied for non-European users like SE Asia)
