    to add to what Fredy said: if you want yo be a King like Martin Luther, educate, and invest in yourself, spend your time wisely. "Bruh Man" is also a character on the Martin show who was always doing "nuttin', just chillin" you can't be a 'King' if you're not putting the actions into making your dreams a reality and you're always "just chilling"

    From a secular hip hop fan: this performance is phenomenal. Lecrae's got bars like the rest of the leaders of the game right now (K-Dot, J. Cole, Drake etc) but doesn't get that level of recognition because of his faith. His flow, lyricism, and creativity is something to behold, and I hope more people can discover this dude's talent.

    It's so good to see Lecrae getting more recognition these days. When I rededicated my life to Christ in 2009, Lecrae's music helped me understand what the Gospel was about and made me aware of what was going on in today's world. Crazy to think five years have gone by already but Sway said it perfectly: Lecrae is a true emcee. Can't wait to see him live at the Tabernacle here in ATL around November.

    To the rest of you who critique on his faith but like the truth in his lyrics...y'all know he wouldn't have ever said all of that if he wasn't Christian right? He'd probably be on the same level as any other generic rapper out here today. His viewpoint is so different than 2 Chainz, A$AP Rocky, Wiz, all of them. God lets him to see the light and Lecrae just spits it out in how he sees it. Keep doing ya thing Lecrae

    You can tell the Holy Spirit was moving in the studio. After Lecrae finished the freestyle, the Spirit truly caught Sway's heart, and with tears in his eyes, what Sway said after that freestyle is so true. Lecrae is proclaiming the message of love, forgiveness, and grace which uplifts, encourages, and sets free. What matters? Loving one another. What is left after the sex, drugs and money? Relationships. Caring for others. Giving without thought of receipt. Honoring one another by affirming, accepting and blessing one another because all people, are God's people, and worthy of love and respect. Lecrae, I want to say thank you, and this comes from a pastor. Keep being a light, shine it every day, and Sway? Thanks for letting us see your heart. And to all who read, Jesus loves you so much it's overwhelming to describe. You are loved. Look at Sway's tears. That's love.

  • @SerpentineWisdom

    @SerpentineWisdom

    +Randy Marx They are ALL freestyles. Lots of people have this weird misconception that a freestyle rap is straight off the top of the head. I say it's weird cause idk where they got that idea from. Freestyle is something free of style. Basically any topic any rhyme scheme any amount of bars, no rules no nothing. And in most cases, it means bringing something new to the table. As in, something no one has heard yet. It can be written, and still be a freestyle. So if he writes this, freestyles it here, and puts it on his new album.....It's a freestyle. Again, freestyle doesn't mean straight off the top of the head. That's just another form of freestyling. There's multiple kinds. Is it more impressive? Yes. But that's not the only qualification for a legit freestyle at all.

    I really am not a fan of religion, but I think this sounds positive. Saying what so many people seem to see clearly. Hip-hop lyrics are too hypocritical. Speaking about committing violence while criticising the police for being violent, dealing drugs acting like it's all just to feed their kids while not giving a damn about the kids they are poisoning, calling women hos while boasting about sleeping around themselves, saying the government should fund more projects in the hood while spending $200,000 dollars on a f*&cking watch, saying politicians are arrogant and selfish while acting the exact same way on every video and actually boasting about it likes it's a badge of honour, doing all this while acting like they had no choice, oh it's so rough in the hood, yeah, it's rougher for the mother of that guy you boasted about shooting, f*$ckin hypocrite. I know that this guy is not the first or only hip-hop artist to give a positive message but I just think this is less watered down. I really hope this type of thing becomes more and more popular and gangstas and boasters just fade away, and that's coming from someone who doesn't like religion. People thinking rappers are so wise just because they know how to make money, looking up to them more than their own president.

    Plain and Simple I don't really believe in God, but I might be wrong about that, I have seen no reliable proof either way. What I am convinced of is that the world's major religions are factually wrong and morally imperfect. With respect, I'd rather stick to the point I made though, as I don't want to take away from it by arguing over religion on this thread. I am just angry when I see the way some rappers talk and behave, because they have influence and people listen to them. I think there are some out there who sell less but are much better, for example Immortal Technique, but I am not enough of a rap fan to really go into it.

Lecrae is flowing a feeling you get when you hear somebody rap about real life (instead of pretend thug life). Sick and tired of the misogyny, materialism and narcissism of today's younger female and male rappers. You may not like his "Christianity" but you can't ignore the flow. #GodlovesRap
