'I LIKE TO WANDER SOME GRAVEYARDS ALONE
AND THINK OF ALL THAT IʼVE BECOME
WHAT KIND OF BOX I WOULD GO
AND WOULD YOU EVEN NOTICE
MY DISAPPEARANCE MY IMPRESSIONS
IʼM JUST WAITING, WAITING...
AND UNTIL THEN MY DESOLATION
WILL BE MY TRADEMARK
IʼLL ALWAYS REMAIN ALIEN
AND HOWEVER HARD I TRY TO INTEGRATE
IʼLL ALWAYS REMAIN ALIEN
YOU SAY I SHOULD GO OUT
IN EVERY BRUTAL TOWN
THERE IS SOMEONE OF SUBSTANCE
FORCING ME TO DO THINGS I NEVER DO
FOR INSTANCE LAUGH AT JOKES OF YOU
SMALL TALKS HAVE SIMPLY NO RELEVANCE
AND UNTIL YOU CHANGE
IʼLL KEEP MY DELIGHTED FACE
IT IS MY TRADEMARK TO ALWAYS REMAIN ALIEN
AND HOWEVER HARD I TRY TO INTEGRATE
IʼLL ALWAYS REMAIN ALIEN'

"And however hard I try to integrate... I'll always remain alien." I cry every time I hear that line. It's so true and it speaks to me in so many different levels 💔

I’m not a goth, but I admire the subculture from afar because of its creativity, inventiveness, highly developed sense of humour and how it can see beauty emerging from the tragic. Like a phoenix from the ashes. Above all, its rejection of the mundane. I’m looking at the best things in years.

See, that's where you post-punk fanpeeps are going wrong. It's not a "revival" of anything. The idea of revival is yet another conceited music industry marketing slogan. Whilst LH's style isn't the most original, what makes them refreshing to listen to is that they aren't trying to be anything else other than themselves (even if Will's croons seem slightly, well, derivative at times..)
Ouço praticamente todos os dias, no trabalho, em casa e viagens, a atmosfera desta música é incrível. I listen to this song practically every day, at work, at home and on the road, an atmosphere of music is incredible.

Never thought about this before now, but the fact that William and Larissa arent filmed together in the same place actually illustrates the theme quite well. Two people, both alienated from their respective society, but also from eachother, since their both live in their own isolated worlds and will never meet. Sad reflection of how it often works in the real world. "You say i should go out in every brutal town, there is someone of substance" like she says but youre unlikely to find your type of person in the busy public places because your type of person hates those places as much as you do.

LOL I'm a greek girl and half of my life I live in a city near to Athens, however I didn't recognise the city of Athens. I recognised the city of Heidelberg few moments later in spite of the fact that I have never ever travelled to Heidelberg or any other German cities.
Increíble música, transmite muchos sentimientos y me encanta la estética de la banda, un abrazo desde Chile!
That guitar tone is so perfect matching to the voices.
Is this a goth homage to bittersweet symphony?

Possibly. Or maybe Richard Ashcroft was the real goth all along..... O_o
Severely underrated band
damn, this hit hard and to the point - like they were in my head...this is beautiful.
Ian Curtis approves this message.

Yes! You finally sing together! And this sounds magical! Definetly love this song💙
Sir, you are the perfect droning voice for these in between times. Love.
I've been ignoring Lebanon Hanover being constantly recommended to me for too long. I just had to be in the wrong head space
love when they both sing

Lebanon Hanover music is getting through my last few school years. I absolutely love the music they produce!
lyrics giving me goosebumps
This song makes me feel better ....i was thinking how alien like i am ...then i saw this song . What a coincidence
This video really hit me, man... the metaphors, symbolism & imagery.
I like to think that before recording this they just asked random people 'can you bump into me?'. Great song and I love the video.
Great song. I can somehow empathize with this song and with this feeling. I grew up in Japan and now I'm living in Switzerland. You feel everywhere never really at home, you will always remain alien.

robbiegrimm Indeed :) I know exactly what you mean. I grew up in Nassau and now I'm living in Geneva. I like feeling alien. I've always felt this way.
