Leavitt Lake Failed - HWY 395 - 10000 Feet - Manzanar National Historic Site

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Spent an epic 4 day 3 night July 4 weekend trip. Originally wanted to hit Leavitt Lake but it ended up being impassable. Detoured into HWY 395 and ended exploring. Resulting in an awesome adventure.

I got my truck stuck in snow just like at @3:00 mark on a trail not to far from there. Was going good till the snow gave way to the tires hi centering me.

Haha. I scouted it to see. Already plan my recoveries in and out. The issue was not being able to recover back out. Outside of shoveling it all clear. Otherwise I wanted to go play lol

@Wonger559 my buddy and I was thinking of going up this coming Sunday. Take a few chainsaws to see how far up we can get. I seen somewhere else there is a huge whole in the road like 7ft deep.

@@imathreat209 its possible. I know that first snow crossing, there is like a 2 foot hole. I heard water running under it. Looked around and sure enough, you can see a hole. wasnt sure how big.

Awesome video and just subbed to your channel! I must have crossed the Sonora pass about a week after you, such a beautiful area! Just had a quick question, what was the name of the area you camped at 10:00 ?

It was a spot way behind Grandview Campground. You drive into the campground and at the back there is a road that leads to that camp area we found.

Hi there , i have the question that do you think the snow going to melt , and the road to go up there . Thanks a lot

The snow will melt but someone needs to get in there to clear all the down trees. From what I'm told, there are more down trees but I didn't hike all the way in to check

No sense working hard to get across it. You'll just go around a corner and there will be a drift twice as big.

@@Wonger559 Yes it is a challenge. I was speaking as a US Forest Service electronic tech wo had to get up to communications sites in early spring. Chains on all 4 of the Power Wagons tires. Go as far as you can then hike or snowshoe the rest of the way. And when you get there you find out why the airnet radio didn't work. Somebody had broke in and stole it. Oh well, lots of fun.
