Overlanding The Sierra National Forest | Sous Vide Cooking with Great Friends at Bald Mountain OHV

The LAST EPISODE of 2023!!! Overlanding, car camping, whatever we want to call it - - the best thing about our travels is who we do it with! Join me for an exciting episode that has everything from a broken Jeep and snowstorm, to Starlink and Sous Vide cooking. Me, Mike @flyfisher530 and Kevin @RhinoOffroad are back together again for an EPIC adventure into the Sierra Nevada mountain range. This time, we are on the West side of the Sierra near the amazing mountain town of Shaver Lake California. If you have never been to Shaver Lake (Sierra National Forest), you'll want to check this video out to see what off-road opportunities are like in the surrounding area. We hit up the Bald Mountain OHV for a little wheeling and camping. One major feature of this episode is how to Sous Vide cook when camping! I made some awesome Snake River Farms filet mignons for the guys. But, can you Sous Vide off of a portable power station? Watch this episode to find out just how they turned out! (Episode 38 - 12/30/23)

    Hi 👋 it’s actually a tailgate table called the Trailgater by Outback Adventures Products. It is the absolute best one out there for the Jeep JL and other vehicles they make them for. The utensil organizer is made by Overland Outfitters and I think it’s called the Cutlery Keeper. It is amazing as well. I’m not affiliated with either company, just incredible products. I did a video that showcases my entire kitchen set up a couple months ago and I think I show the detail of them in that video if you want to check it out. • @TrailNewbie

    @TrailNewbie

    6 ай бұрын

    Great question. I asked Kevin during the trip that same question, and while I don’t remember his answer perfectly - he said because his JK is a manual transmission, it’s just easier when climbing at slow speeds to go 4L and stay in those lower gears. I’ve always driven an automatic, so I keep mine in 4H for the service roads, and then 4H for any significant climb or descent. (On descents to save my brakes!) 😃 If I think of it, I’ll ask him the next time we hang out, and try to provide some additional info here. But, again, I think the main driver was due to his being a manual. Thanks for watching and for the comment! Cheers! 🥂 😃👊🏼🙌🏼👏🏼
