@sidetriplife I saw Ruang Talok 69 the series. It was great. I could not find the movie itself for streaming. thanks for the recommendation
Hello from London 😊, Me and my Thai wife have watched your vlogs since lockdown and without a doubt you are definitely one of our favourite KZreadr’s.. for example: Kanom, my Thai wife had never heard of the place, and now it’s one of our go to places, and the quality of your vlogs are excellent, we love the fact that you don’t just driver the 1 hour from a to b, you actually stop off and investigate every condo / restaurant on the way making the hour trip 5 times longer, and that is something that some people don’t appreciate the work in this and the editing of your videos are top notch …. We just wish we didn’t have to wait so long between your vlogs 😊 cheers to you Sir 🙏🙏🇹🇭🇹🇭🍻🍻

Such a lovely comment, thank you both:) STL
Seems Jakarta has greatly improved the airport and the link into the city centre, since I was last there about 10 years ago. I’ve just come back on a short trip to Bali and found the locals extremely friendly, though especially Ubud very crowded with tourists and the traffic on the narrow roads a nightmare! Would say the prices for hotels and restaurants are pretty similar to Thailand, as is the quality!

Roy, just checked your channel to see what you've been up to and that London Blues Club looked fantastic! Reminded me of old Vancouver Gastown clubs like The Town Pump. Any looking in, Roy's an OG traveller, have a look at his channel. Cheers! STL
Watched till the end....Jakarta nicer than expected. Looking forward to seeing the island you are going to. I'm heading to Thailand in less than 3 weeks. Was hoping to meet up. I'll be there for several months.

Great info as usual..thanks!
Watched it all as always! Nice video. Have fun! 😊
What a surprise! I always thought Jakarta was just a big sweaty, heaving metropolis. It’s nice and modern. Might have to check it out.

Jakarta can definitely be heaving and sweaty (like most SE Asia Capitals) but also absolutely world class, plus lovely people and a nice blend of traditional & classic mixed with ultra modern (as we'll see coming up)
Excellent - will be tuned into every one of this series !
Great video. Thanks for posting. Looking forward to the next one.
Great edit, great content, keep up the good work, looking forward to a new adventure 👌
Another great video full of amazing sights and sounds 😊😊
Great video! I repost everything you do, man. You got a way of making feel what it would be like to go to the places you film. Just love all the the practical info you include. Really appreciate it! Thanks from a Vancouver traveler in Mexico!!
Fun video, thanks for taking us along, looking forward to your next one
Glad the travel there went smoothly !👍 Will be staying tuned as always ! Good luck ! 👍🤞😄
Great video! I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to seeing some new sites. Of course I watched to the very end.
36 mins... awesome! Another great video, always so well paced. Love your research to work out which row and which side has best window for plane vlogging... impressive!! I can't say I'd ever plug a device into a public charging port but I would plug in a power bank (unless I have a data-less cable and device is off but still rather the power bank).
I can't wait to see what lies ahead on your journey around some beautiful islands
Yes! Back to Indonesia. I loved your previous vids from there! Looking forward to some new video adventures for STL…
I like the longer vds. Always smile when i see a new one. Thanks.
Looking forward to the new adventures.
Great vlog, as always 👍🏼
Great video by the most sincere vlogger, thank you STL, heading to Bangkok, Danang, Chiang Mai and Krabi in Dec.

Usually I’m back home in the US watching your vids, but in Thailand right now and was just at T21 Asok yesterday, so a little surreal watching whilst in Thailand. You’re blessed to be living here, I’m dreading having to leave.
Hiya STL. Sounds like a good film. The food court. The food looked so good and so cheap. The London bathrooms. Is cool. I always love your longer videos. Please do more. And love travel days. Always informative. Gorgeous place to escape the rainy season. Those solar charging stations are a great idea. Love your old cars. Classics. Nice room and so cheap. Nice rooftop vibes. Great views. Your dinner looked tasty. Lovely to have two pools. I always watch from start to finish. Like, and Share. The beach at the end looks gorgeous. Looking forward to the next one. See you on the next one. Thank you for sharing. Have a great weekend.

Another great vlog stl.
Just watched all of your Hua Hin and PKK videos. Just bought a house in Hua Hin. Love this area and can't wait to explore some of the places you shared. Thanks.
In Thailand now. Heading down to Koh Chang for a few days on the island. Half of my 30 day visit is already behind me. Regretting my approching departure. I'll be back on a more permanent basis within the year... unless the Thai government screws up the retirement visa and foreign income taxation laws, as they're now blustering about.
Cheers for that video.🍺🍺🍺🍺👏👍
One of the things so far I'm really liking about Thailand even though I've never been there, while they may not speak English as a second language in Thailand, the signs are there in multiple languages including English which is fantastic. In Mexico it's all in Spanish and you have to use Google translate. That's a much more welcoming place for someone that doesn't speak the local language. The thing that like strikes me the most is how courteous and respectful the society is. That's pretty awesome. Bangkok lol... The traffic. But I'm not a mall guy but that was pretty cool. The Thai know food. I could live there for $5 a day on the food alone. (I don't eat much). I don't have any interest in learning Thai as a conversational language but I would like to pigeon it. Kind of like I do with my Spanish I know enough to get by. In Mexico they appreciate the effort. I'm sure they are laughing at my pronunciations but still. What about in Thailand? Is it like France where they make fun of you cuz you butcher their language or do they appreciate that you try? Yeah then you get over to Indonesia my second choice. I really love traveling along with you as I sit in my RV in South Dakota getting ready to soon to go south winter in Arizona.

Thais (& Indonesians) LOVE it when you try to speak, even if just a few words. Btw had a quick look at your RV vid (imma fan of RVs too, more a 19' Pleasureway type mind you;) and wow very nice 100' coach with every amenity! Enjoy AZ RV wintering in style. STL
From an old business traveler who logged several hundred thousand miles every year, now I won’t take a flight over 2 hours. I returned to Thailand a year and a half ago to live, and the flight was 30 hours from the US. Had jet lag for almost 2 weeks.
Love your work!
Looks fantastic STL. Cheers 👍👍🦘

I did watch to the end and I would have watched longer to find out where to next.
Your videos are amazing.
That train to the city is awesome, driving to and from the airport used to be horror!
I loved your video, quite different than the other ones! Hope you have a great stay in Indonesia. Funny, when you are in DMK, KZread gives me an Air France add, and when your are in this mall in Jakarta with those luxury toys, KZread gives me an e-SUV video. Perfect timing and relevance!

Speaking of turbulence - for many years I visited Thai friends during October . Overall I was very fortunate weather wise but have you ever flown into Krabi ? Not sure it’s common but the two instances I did during October not only was it so rough that the pilot had to do a fly around for a second attempt at landing but we also had a really tooth rattling bump . Won’t stop me from going again but memorable . I’m headed to Maui with my sister and her kids after Xmas and in the news is more encounters of some sort of loss of altitude event they are seeing more in the pacific . Evidently not easily forecastable and something pilots fear. A future concern in that Asian neck of the woods?
@SideTripLife
9 ай бұрын
Oct is the height of monsoon season in Thailand thus also heightened chance of a bumpy ride or landing. Pilot's will try to bob n weave around thunderheads but at some point the aircraft will have to align with the ILS and runway of course. Having said that flying is still the safest mode of transport on the world.
Fellow Canadian from BC, so polite, like all Canadians, LOL
So exciting….love your video’s. Have you ever thought of being a bit of a tour guide since your such a savvy traveler? Like maybe part-time, spare-time? I would pay you in Btc just to get familiarized in areas. I’ve never been abroad alone so for me it’s intimidating going from place to place. I’ve already had lunch yet you had my mouth watering from the Lebanese food to the various Asian cuisines. Can’t wait to live out this lifestyle#IslandHoping

Nice roof top restaurant and bar and a great way to end the video, showing some parts of Jakarta by night. Try to visit Si Jagur Cannon at Fatahillah Square. This Portuguese cannon is very popular among Indonesians as it comes with a hand ornament showing a fico gesture, which is believed by local people to be able to induce fertility on women.
