The Jackson's are not mentioned in the will - only his mother & 3 children, so they do not benefit in any way. Robson & Safechuck - 2 broke bastards have discredited themselves with their litany of provable outright lies and are desperate to legally EXTORT millions from the Estate. The settlement did not stop the criminal trial. It ended the civil suit and the criminal investigation was still going. The accusers were still allowed to press charges and testify in court. At least Dan admits It Is about the money

Yes, a criminal trial would have been nice, but Jordan probably did the smart thing by taking the 20 million and walking away, rather than being smeared and slandered by the Jackson lawyers in court. That would have been grueling for an adult, imagine for a 13 year old. Also, the payment was in installments, Jackson probably would have stopped paying if Jordan had testified at a criminal trial.

When prosecutors and defence attorneys slash it out in court it is not calld slander. I do not know the laws of giving testimony as a child certainly in my country if you dont want to be in court room you can give evidence from another room. I thought a big part of being a victim is to seek justice where did I get that from? If you can get money and justice why wouldnt you. Michael was talked into this by his lawyers , he said same as us no it will make me look guilty.

First of all u don’t fucking no as it’s still classified, but from 2005 it’s clear there were no installments, what u heard and call installments is actually a separate payment, each parent got a settlement, and than a larger portion was given to a child himself, but it was given by insurance company, MJ did agree to that under the circumstances that was the only solution, he dragged it till last night to agree to that actually! The way it was set out is that the insurance gave out the whole amount right away but under the settlement it was set up in he form of a trust fund, where the child would get most of the money only when he reaches legal age, until than he was getting NOTHING! His parents that got smaller amounts were supposed to take care of him financially till legal age, and again it didn’t not prevent no criminal court, what slander?! The civil suit they filed already reviled the identity of the kid and the family and was blustered all over the media! R u ppl smoking crack! I wish ppl knew what’s up and how horrible of a fucking stupid machine it is, and if u knew the real agenda u would all puke! The only kind of truth here it’s not entirely about MJ, but it’s not at all about alleged victims, not at all!!!

Ok more detail: Explaining why the 1994 settlement came about Michael Jackson lost four crucial motions in court. These court motions were: Motion For Trial Preference (Civil Trial) by Chandler - GRANTED. Motion To Compel Deposition by Michael Jackson - DISMISSED W/O PREJUDICE Motion To Compel Mr Jackson's Deposition by Chandler - GRANTED. Request To Stay Ruling by Michael Jackson - DENIED. Key to understanding these four motions and their significance is in knowing what the Chandler's civil lawsuit was about. 1) sexual battery 2) battery 3) seduction 4) willful misconduct 5) intentional infliction of emotional distress 6) fraud 7) negligence The civil lawsuit was filed whilst the criminal investigation was still ongoing. Civil lawsuits allow hearsay and circumstantial evidence. Criminal investigations do not allow these. As a result, filing a civil lawsuit at the same time as a criminal investigation can lead to a defendant being prejudiced against or suffer sekf-incrimination. So, on 14th September 1993, the Chandler's lawyer, Larry Feldman, filed their $30million lawsuit. Michael Jackson's lawyer, Bertram Fields, filed Michael Jackson's answer to this lawsuit on 29th October 1993. Discovery process can then start. This means: 1) Depositions are taken 2) Request for Production of Documents 3) Request for Admissions aka admit to certain facts 4) Form Interrogatories A protective order can also be done which is blocking or limiting requests or limiting information requested. At the same time as all of that going on, Bert Fields filed a Motion for Stay of Discovery and Trial on behalf of Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson wanted Discovery AND a Trial in the civil case to be imposed until the six year statute of limitations ran out. That would have meant ZERO discovery and ZERO criminal trial until 1999. By then, the outcome of the criminal investigation would have been known well before 1999. If this motion was granted to Michael Jackson, the LA and SB DAs would NOT have been able to use the civil trial in order to build a criminal case against Michael Jackson. People either forget or don't know the Chandler's refused to cooperate with the police. This forced the police to want to take information from the civil trial in order to attempt to prosecute Michael Jackson. So, we go on to the Motion To Compel Michael Jackson's Deposition. The Chandler's lawyer, Mr L. Feldman, wanted to depose MJ and 11 other people including Anthony Pellicano, LaToya Jackson, Bianca Francia, Gayle Goforth, etc. The discovery material they wanted from Michael Jackson was: - Form interrogatories - First Set of Special Interrogatories - First Set of Request for Production of Documents - Second Set of Request for Production of Documents - Second Set of Special Interrogatories Michael's legal team responded to all of this by asserting his Fifth Amendment Rights. The Motion To Compel Michael Jackson's Deposition infringed Michael Jackson's constitutional rights due to his treatment for drug addiction. He needed to resolve his medical issues first. The other reason given for the objection to Michael's deposition was that Michael Jackson should not be deposed until the criminal investigation was concluded and any potential criminal prosecution disposed of. When the Chandler's lawyer objected by pointing to Michael's Mexico deposition, Michael's attorney, Eve H. Wagner stated that MJ was glassy eyed, could hardly stay awake, had difficulty holding physical objects, slurred speech and could not focus on issues. Therefore, Beechy Colcough issued a statement on 20th November confirming Michael had a drug problem requiring treatment. "That Michael Jackson be given the same right to have his testimony heard for the first time at trial without fear that the prosecution will try to impeach his credibility.....the law enforcement agency has sought and gained access to all discovery in this action." - Johnnie Cochrane Cochrane also opposed the Motion to Compel because some information sought by the Chandler's was irrelevant to the case, some was protected by Attorney-Client privilege and that it was too early to request Michael Jackson's financial information. 13th December 1993, Johnnie Cochrane takes the lead in Michael's case and issues a Motion For Protective Order. He argued that Michael had a right to be protected from invasion of privacy, embarrassment and undue annoyance. Same applies to the witnesses. And that Michael Jackson had a right to receive a fair, impartial trial. He argued that if this Motion For Protective Order was not granted, then Michael Jackson was entitled to a Stay of the Civil action because law enforcement were delaying their investigation in order to use any Civil Discovery against Michael Jackson. All these motions were designed to protect Michael Jackson from violation of constitutional rights and self-incrimination. The case Pacers v Superior Court was used to support this argument that it's unconstitutional not to stay the Civil action whilst a criminal investigation is pending. Chandler's lawyer, unfortunately, argued that Jordan was entitled to a speedy trial because a child's memory is still developing. Problem is that law they used to argue this was intended for young kids such as four year olds. Anyway, Michael lost all four motions. He couldn't take the depositions of Jordan, Evan and June Chandler or Dave Schwartz. Since the motion for Trial Preference was granted to Chandler, the trial was to be held in March 1994. Michael was handicapped in defending himself since he could not take their depositions. Clear violation of the constitutional right to a fair trial, to defend himself and to question his accusers. Unsurprisingly, all of this set the stage for the settlement itself. In lieu of winning the motions Michael Jackson needed, reaching a settlement in the Chandler civil action was the SECOND BEST way for Michael Jackson to protect himself and his constitutional rights. It meant, as a consequence, Michael Jackson could then focus on the criminal case and any potential criminal trial. Stop misleading people and stop the lies

The chandlers had the option to continue on a criminal case but they took the money and fled and stopped cooperating with authorities since then. So saying settlement was hush money or to stop a case is in itself something that didn’t exist but it’s good now that people can find info and educate themselves. By the way it’s illegal now for a civil case to go before a criminal case and I believe we all now can guess why

It was people who threw themselves at MJ and tried to push themselves into MJ's life; not the other way around. This was the case with Jordan Chandler and Gavin Arvizo's parents as well. We would learn through depositions and even court transcripts for 2005, and interviews Joy and Wade Robson gave that it was JOY who actively pursued MJ; it was NEVER the other way around. Had it not been for Joy's determination to get into Michael's life, their association to him would have ended in 1987 at the Bad Concert. In Joy's interviews, we learned SHE WAS the one who initiated contact with Michael; not the other way around. It was HER who had to get Wade into MJ's videos and it was HER who would ask MJ to call them and keep in touch. It was her who jumped through leaps and bound to get a hold of MJJ productions when she was in Australia and it was HER who tried to set up a meeting for them to meet MJ when they came to the U.S. It was always the families coming to MJ with their sob stories; not the other way around. But because he didn't have the strength to tell people NO, this allowed some people to try and take advantage of him and ruin his life. Wade Robson wanted to get married at Neverland while MJ was on trial for his LIFE; his nanny told them NO. Wade Robson's mom suggested getting custody of MJ's kids after his death.

@@maymayr9318 Technically he was right. June Chandler later testified in 2005, and no one was prevented from testifying in a criminal trial. That would be illegal.

Safechuck claims to have been repeatedly molested in the Neverland train station between 1988-1992 (until the age of 14) --> The train station was built in 1994, 2 years after alleged abuse. (Construction began towards the end of 93)

This whole thing is ridiculous. These two accusers are after money/fame. Dan Reed you are a disgrace.

it's not Michael Jackson who stopped first trial in 1993-1994 but Evan Chandler, Jordan's father, who by the way was the accuser, he didn't want to start criminal case because he already got what he wanted - money - and he knew if criminal case will start he will be proven guilty of extortion and will go to jail. What kind of parent wouldn't want to put his child abuser behind the bars even if they gave him money already? Wouldn't you start criminal case and make sure this person will go to jail? After the civil case Jordan had filed for legal emancipation from his parents and since 1994 he didn't see or speak to his mother. Prosecution wanted him to testify against Michael in 2005 case but he refused and his father almost killed him for that. As result he obtained a permanent restraining order against his father. This whole case was an extortion and fake news created by Evan Chandler. And it wasn't Michael who paid but his insurance, he was during tour and they didn't want him to stop it. Michael didn't want to pay, but it wasn't up to him. This payout ruin his life and now even though he was proven NOT GUILTY in 2005 for some people he will stay guilty no matter what. And in Gavin Arvizo case it was proven Michael was not guilty and they all made it up. Whole family was just bunch of crooks who were suing multiple people for molestation. His mother went to jail later for fraud. This what Wade, James and Dan Reed are doing is disgusting. If Michael was still alive nobody would dare say or do anything like this, but because he can't defend himself he is easy target. They should be ashamed of themselves, this is another extortion and Dan Reed is openly admitting this - "it's all about the money". And you are calling yourself journalist, you are selling fake news, do your research better before you open your mouth.

Two juries of eight people (16 in total) said that there was no evidence to move forward with a criminal trail in that case. His lawyers paid the civil suit from his insurance company so Michael could get back to touring. That family could've still sought justice but they did not, they took the money and Ran quickly. So this radio show host needs to check her facts before stating untrue statements on the air.

This is the best documentary I have ever seen. As a person who has suffered betrayal trauma, the way this is told, the stories the men share resonate with me to my core. I believe these men and I am grateful Dan Reed made this film. I have watched documentary probably more than 20 times and keep watching it as it has been healing for me in a way - I didn't suffer the same kind of abuse but it was abuse. Hearing others stories is so comforting somehow. Probably because I can identify with some of their pain. Trauma is trauma.

Why are you thanking someone who admits to not fact-checking any stories published. A documentary should be factual don't you think?... or at least check that the stories cannot be disproved easily. Alleged victims need to be given a voice and the benefit of the doubt but also then investigation must ensue to verify and fact check, don't you think? Otherwise it's a Salem witchunt where the innocent are hung and burned alice at the whim of self interest and a finger point.

It is also a emails between wade and his mother where you can also see they talk about several version to tell when and where and so on it goes. Do your research instead and then decide ;)
