Hi Vanessa it’s only me - I’ve been really worried about you and I hope you’ve been alright. It’s just that you didn’t post a Vlog/video last week please don’t think that you have to post one each week. It’s just that I was worried that if you’re okay - I hope you’ve enjoyed this lovely weather. We’ve been having this week unfortunately in the heat my multiple sclerosis Gets really bad - I’ve been in bed most of the week to release the pressure on my spine. my dearest lifetime friend died from complications from MS. a couple of years ago but he had it for 30 years, and still did quite a lot, but was always fighting depression. take care 'only me'....

Get yourself a dishing net or pool net with an extension pole, it takes up no space, it can lay under or behind a piece of furniture. Would make retrieving a ball much easier !!! It could also be helpful if Zyph needed help out. Blessings

@@themindfulnarrowboat there are also these plastic wands that have a cup at the end that holds a ball, specifically for flailing the ball long distances for pooch to chase but wand would serve well as scoop for retrieving ball from river. In US they can be found in dollar type store. It would tuck into your backpack (sticking out). Cheers. (Chuckit sport launcher)

I do wonder each time how many biscuits will accompany the tea at the end!!! Restful escape with each episode ❤

Hi Vanessa, I love that you are interested in the “resilient” plants and give them attention! Living in the dry southwest of the US, drought resilient plants are my friends in gardening. I spend a lot of time capturing rainwater or carting in mountain stream water to help them on! “Relish the rain” indeed!

Enjoy your time with Family Vanessa , I was never one to visit relations , maybe they were happy about that. That Farm store was unique in these times. So trusting and believing in honesty is rare. I miss the English rain as the rain where I am is like warm water. That Bee lives a colourful life , almost magical in the plants he gathers from. Lovely vlog as usual watching you wind the boat reminded us of a holiday about 6 years ago on the Mon and Brec canal we did what seemed a 20 point turn with my wife on the front with a pole worse winding hole I've ever seen, Loved the bee on the foxglove brilliant photography, hope London went well ,won biscuit challenge was surprised with 2,take care.😊

Wow! Your roof-top garden is growing like gangbusters! And the Honesty Farm Shop had some really wonderful produce to choose from. Those Gong"mule"zlers were sure gawking at Alice Grace as you cruised by. You did a marvelous job turning Alice around in the winding (?) hole. I'm not sure I'd be able to do it myself. It looks a lot more challenging than parallel-parking a car. I hope you have a great 2-week visit with your family and friends. Take good care, Jenny p.s. Welcome back, you were missed! Can certainly understand needing to touch base with family and friends now and then. No one is an island. Rather thought that marsh fly would show up in the journal. We have what are called narrow headed marsh flies here in Minnesota, very similar to yours. They have such a distinctive design on their torso, almost a steam punk vibe 😊. I had a firefly climbing up my screen door recently. I think he was checking to see if there were any cuties hanging out in my place. Had to tell him no, sorry 😉. Fireflies never fail to convince me there's still magic out there. I never outgrow that hope. Hope the weather improves on your return and have a great weekend!

I normally stop at the farm shop too. I cannot believe all the types of eggs they have, from turkey eggs to quail eggs in size. I always get 1/2 a dozen duck eggs.

Least on the canals you can’t take a wrong turn and get lost 🤣🤣. I e been trying to email you pics of the old lock house and lock that was abandoned in 1908 I think , the lock house is quaint and very small and completely round and it’s so pretty and part of the lock beam is still there along with deep dark water that’s trapped ( it’s truly the stiff of nightmares when you look in to it ) this is part of the canal that runs though Cricklade to south cerney .have you considered putting a umbrella up for when your steering Alice ? Would be easy to attach a pole so it can stay there permanently 😃.
