I don't know the exact story, but John Holmes must have claimed to be Ken Osmond. There IS a resemblance. Holmes was renowned for lying about his real life, including his past. He was embarrassed about his humble background and lack of education.

I love Mrs. Cleaver. I wish she was my mom...So loving and caring and she seems to be that way in true life. Joan couldn't take away her dignity and poise. Such a "lovely" lady. Leave it to Beaver is my show on Netflix!!!

I enjoyed Leave It To Beaver and Still The Beaver, as well. Just Great shows, because of a Great cast.

I don't remember the horse episode...but then it _was_ a lifetime ago.

Barbara exemplified the mother we grew up with in the fifties. My own mother actually vacuumed wearing heels and pearls and she loved it. The Womens Movement shot into smithereens what was a beautiful time for kids to death. Very sad.

barbera billingsley always struck me as a woman who was real nice,would have been a lot of fun to to a movie or tv show with,and would have been a fun person to be around offscreen.she had that classic beauty that needed little to no makeup,and in later years she didnt seem to feel a need to spend millions on plastic surgery! she stayed beautiful all her life because she was an inside/out beauty all her life! annette funicello and julie adams followed junes example of true beauty,and mariska hargitay,the mandrell sisters,and others are now! but why cant barberas' example be followed by more celebrities,she was hot,and stayed hot! no knife needed!

John Jarou a lot of feminists like to make fun of her june cleaver character because she did her housework in pearls,high heels and a dress,but barbera pointed out in an interview that all the pearls were was a necklace that didn't get in the way of anything,and that most women did everything in dresses in those days,and while the high heels were a stretch,she wore them from season 2 on because tony dows wally character got taller than her and in those days kids were taught it was disrespectfull to look down at adults,and she wanted to respect him as well so she wore them! I think the feminists were just jealous that barbera was a classy lady with morals,they like the peg bundy types!

Can I ask if so many people wanted June Cleaver as a mother, why is there so much backlash against women like me who stay home, cook, clean, and live a very traditional life? Why am I seen as less of a woman by modern standards?

Lacey Lynn your listening to the wrong people. There are plenty of people who support and respect you. No matter who you are and what you do, there are people who will dislike you and there are people who will like you. Not everyone is going to be loved by everyone else. Have belief in what you do.

I was too until my kids went to High School, I went back to work. Until then I got calls everyday wanting me to pick up, feed, watch, i.e. babysit the other parents kids and I did. Not one ever paid me not one cent. Not even an offer for the favors. Sometimes it was after dark when they came for the kids. From what the kids would tell me their lives were so bad with these 'working mom's' and dads that I never pressed the issue. These folks had 2 paychecks coming in --- we had one. I was raised to not accept charity and to pay your way. Americans today just are raised to screw everyone equally.

The guys knew each other since they were little kids. They had some hot teachers when they were in grade school.

Now she's gone & Tony is , 75 yrs old in 2020 (So is Ken Osmond gone)
