    The best change to this multitool in my opinion would be like this: Switch the saw with a nice pair of scissors, add a pair of tweezers into the scales make this less bouncy looking and quarter inch longer, finally add a nice deep carry pocket clip. I would buy five and just gift them to my loved ones. It would be the perfect lightweight multitool.

    My favorite as well. My guess for why it was discontinued is because it was the most expensive to produce b/c of the diamond file. And somewhat competed with the Wave.

    I've never had a KF4 in hand but I've always thought that its tool set was the perfect light to moderate duty companion to a SAK. I've even wondered if that is why Leatherman got rid of it so early on.

    I found a Juice C2 at an estate sale last week. Didn't know about the Juice series but I know Leatherman because of my long used Wingman. I bought the C2 for $10 (they're selling on ebay used for $75-80+). Didn't even look used. Just a couple of rust spots from sitting out. A little oil and a cleaning and it was good to go. I'm carrying it on my hip as an edc with my Ka-bar Dozier in my pocket. Seems like a well built and handy tool. Compact with just the basics.

    The KF4 showed me how good Leatherman support is. I opened mine up just normally one day and something broke, and I was left with a handful of bits. I sent it back to Leatherman and got a whole new KF4, a plastic belt clip that it snaps into and a pouch, all fixed free of charge. I would certainly pick up an SC2 if I could find a new one, an possibly some of the others too. Perhaps they just didn't sell otherwise Leatherman would still be producing them now. Thanks for the heads up on the Vic Ambassador.

    I think leatherman could benefit from expanding their line of multitools in the small to medium size such as the juice series. Also, they discontinued the leap, and there really isnt a viable alternative for kids unless you go for no name brands where the quality is questionable at best.

    The last version of juice with those different scales were damn ugly. I also didn't want one because of the corkscrew. This one I could see myelf with if the serrated blade were replaced. For me the king of away from work multitools is the Sebertech Sebertool m4. The m2 is great as well, but the m4 can easily clip baling wire and wire hangers. The m2 is just as sturdy but too small to get the job done. I like the squirt but I'm not comfortable trying to clio anything more than a paperclip. If you think keychain multitools are weak you've never tried a Sebertool m4 from sebertech.

    Found the Leatherman kf4 on the highway working interstate embedded in tack. Still function but the saw and awl are not working. It’s in silver. Guess it’s highly seeked for. My father found a Swisstool the next week and gave me it. The Swisstool is amazing and I always had gerber and Leatherman. Very impressed. You think Leatherman would fix the saw and awl under warranty? The pliers don’t touch tip either on the kf4. Sentimental to me though from finding this rare gem. They go for $150 used on eBay

    Hello :) I actually have a KF4 in Grey, great condition as well. I didn't even know that they were no longer produced. I might even have a second one in mint condition, have to search for that one. If I sell one it would be probably the one in mint condition because the other one I got from my dad. They used to sell them in his store. Luckily I found this video, I almost forgot about this brand lol. Here is the one I have right now imgur.com/gallery/vq2HGbt What do you think would it be worth anyways? I can't find one online to compare it lol Greetings from Switzerland

  • @T.Sizzle

    @T.Sizzle

    4 жыл бұрын

    TX Tool Crib I got the email earlier too & notice there seems to be no reviews out there. Maybe that’s because it doesn’t release for a couple more days. The combo blade doesn’t interest me either. Leatherman did delay the release by a couple months. Not sure why. I know some are already bashing the 420HC steel blade but I’m open to it. It does look like it could use a thumb stud, which should be easy for us to add on ourselves. Separate subject: do you like the Gerber EAB? I carry it and find it pretty handy. Again, that one needs a thumb stud or grip tape for easier deployment.

  • @txtoolcrib

    @txtoolcrib

    I do like the Gerber EAB. I use the Lite version at work all the time. I love having a sharp blade on me that I’m not afraid to tear up. I use it a lot for cutting rubber, gasket material, and any number of other tasks. What I like most about that particular knife is the fact that it has a nice pocket clip on it. I have tried many different versions of utility knives, but I always come back to the Gerber.

    I am still looking for a KF4. What a nice tool. The CS4 is ok, but the corkscrew sticks out too much. They could just keep the S2 and KF4. If they returned to the old design with the longer blade and nicer looks they'd be ok. Maybe give us a KF4 and replace the serrated blade for scissors. Another great review, Ben! Thanks. :D

    5 min in... no idea what kf4 is about. I've heard a lot about other models and brands, but still have no idea what's going on with the kf4. A time stamp to know when the discussion regarding the advertised tool begins would be nice. And I know, "comparison is part of the discussion! " good point, but most people who check out stuff like this have a base knowledge of these kind of tools. Also, early in it is teased that the multi tool pairs well a certain SAK, over a third of the way in, and no clue as to what that us, either. I know more about what these tools aren't than what they are. Just silly, really. I'm just saying, a time stamp for when the review starts reviewing the tool would be nice.
