Jason, people are going to always talk crap. Do what makes you happy. We are never too old to learn. I have watched your videos since your camping days. I love your adventures. Happy Adventures!

I can't believe people would advise against learning to sail or curl, or fly. I am a recreationist by trade and know that learning new things is an essential part of being a human being. It's really not that hard, just common sense and paying attention to the weather and your surroundings. I think you will have a blast. PS , I am 65 and love to learn new skills/skills. Come visit us when you're in Ontario, Canada and we will take you out on our Aloha. We love that we keep it in the Thousand Islands. I would be limiting contact with those negative nellies.

You are not crazy, your dreams don't match the dreams other people have. If we all thought the same way, life would be SO boring! It doesn't matter what your age is, if you want to do something, do it! If you fail and it is important to you, you will learn to do it better. If not, then you move on to the next thing. Good luck, I hope that sailing is everything that you think it is and more!

Another thing off your bucket list checked. I say go for it and Live the Adventure. Sounds fun and just think of some interesting places you could go. Mexico or Tobermory. When I was a kid I went to sailing camp for a month and enjoyed it. Have fun and anyone who says don’t do fun things isn’t living life. Have a great day and enjoy being on the water.

Learning how sail around La Paz sounds good you’ve got the knots going and your canoe thing going. You’ve got the nautical thing happening already to become a crewmember to Hawaii. I did it from being able to cook on a medium sized large sailing vessel and being in charge of purchasing all provisions Red Sea and Mediterranean and then learning how to sail but always learning how to do everything. People who are going across the Pacific need “You” on their crew Jason. Believe me.

Thank you. I would love to do a major crossing one day, or at least I think I would. A lot to learn and a lot more experience to gain but how cool would it be to cross the Atlantic or Pacific or to maybe do the milk run. Oh… I can dream.
