Learning Anatomy For Manga (Using The Loomis Method for Stylised Proportion)

Line and Color Quick Start Guide: www.thedrawingcodex.com/quick...
Can you use the Loomis Method to help you draw Manga? Yes...
This is the same for most really stylised types of art. There is often a mix of structure and perspective and technical drawing.... combined with symbols and abstract features.
Once you get good at blocking in proportion with the Loomis Method you can use it to suit your own style.
It's just a tool you can use to help you draw cool stuff!
Happy Drawing!

He is a superstar. Watching him draw live is some quite scary for us mere mortals.

I liked your video while I'm relearning about drawing. This and the Radiorunner's curriculum for the self-taught artist guided me better than enrolling to any course. And here's a new subscriber!

Thank you for making this video. I've been trying to understand how to study from a book and apply it. People online will tell you what to study but not how to study and apply it. This was extremely helpful.

fantastic video! i came to this one after watching another one of your videos and wanted to say you might be one of the best art education channels ive seen on youtube! you dont just paraphrase a lot of what loomis or other instructors say and go out of your way to show it in detail!!!! its incredible! one thing i do wish was that in this video and some of your more recent ones is that you would show and break down some examples of what you are talking about too, you already make stuff pretty clear most of the time but i felt like it might be hard to grasp what you said in this video with the manga examples without trying to break some of it down, like maybe showing a panel from one of the manga or your comic and connecting it with what you're talking about, in this case how stylized proportion is an extension and modification of loomis' method. thats the only real criticism i can give. everything else was amazing! teaching with traditional pencil and paper also feels so much nicer to me for some reason, and is really easy to follow along with. thank you!

This a very useful video, thank youu! I do have a question do, since it's basically altering the basic proportions of the body, how does it translate when you have to add muscles on top? I hope that makes sense

20 minutes talking, 5 minutes drawing. Just like many other of your videos. Honestly, you need to draw more.

Sorry but this is completely absurd. Anatomy has no place in manga. And loomis is the worst of the worst.
