Discovered you a few weeks ago. Immediately subscribed. I am from Alabama in the U.S. Grew up with a couple of mean little Shetland ponies, Welsh pony, American Quarter Horses. Like everyone else I am in love with The Queen, and her gorgeous Rising Star. Thank you for letting us be included in your amazing life.

Rising Star is so cute and at the same time it's obvious that he will be a gorgeous horse, especially by his form and physique! And his patient and calm forster mother Queen Uniek will give him it's remarkable character!

Hyaluronic acid can be helpful for osteoarthritis in horses too, is an injection. My Belgian had ringbone, which we treated with it, and had good results. These videos of Queen Uniek & Rising Star JK are giving me life! Such a beautiful story. 👑❤️

Rising Star said, “No thank you, I am not interested in learning to be tied up.” When my dream horse turned 25 I had to stop riding him. He could not pick up his back feet for the farrier and was unhappy being ridden. I found a vet 3 hours away who practiced equine chiropractic with acupuncture. It was miraculous and Whiskey was sound until he passed at 30 yrs. 6 mo. I also supplemented with a joint supplement that had Glucosamine, MSM, Hyaluronic Acid and Chondroitin that work together reducing Inflammation & pain. MSM increases blood flow also. I added Omega 3 & 6 separately. Now, there is Mojo Joint Equine that has all of those plus vitamins A, C, & D along with 10 different anti-inflammatories. It is expensive I admit, but, worth getting to the root of the problem without drugs that are also pricey with side effects. I treasure my horses the same as my children. Praying for Queen Uniek! Yvonne has always been direct and upfront to show and teach owning healthy and happy horses is not always a bowl of cherries. Farrier, worming, grooming, dental, diet, exercise, training, etc...and yes...sometimes medical and vet care for issues that can arise. Oh Rising Star is such a gorgeous little boy. I like the way he wants to be as close to Mum as possible and those LOOONG legs are so gorgeous!

I'm guessing that the dislikes are for Rising Star JK having been tied up for maybe 5 minutes. Uniek is calm and ok with it and although he may not like it very much, he doesn't appear very stressed about it either. Certainly he has recovered nicely when he goes outside. You all do such a good job with the horses in your care!

Yvonne, Hello. I'm a medical professional - and now humbly submit input on Uniek's behalf. Reference Uniek's osteoarthritis (OA) condition (at least for human beings - so I'm confident this holds true for equines), the following management steps are helpful: - Activity level considerations (exactly as you've stated) - Supplementing glucosamine (as you are already doing) and [adding] chondroitin can be helpful (although research results are somewhat mixed regarding the degree of efficacy of both supplements) - Uniek's weight (as with any being, animal or otherwise, with OA) is a factor. And we know she likes to eat...and will not be denied - although I suspect, having seen how large the Queen became while gravid with Star, that her recent pregnancy stressed her weight bearing joints considerably...and - The consideration (if approved by her veterinarian) toward occasional/as needed NSAID medication category use - although, given its excretion in the mother's milk, this consideration would likely need to be put on hold...until such time that Rising Star JK is weaned from his nursing. I hope my input proves helpful for your Beauty Queen👑 . BTW, I love your Friesian Horses and YT channel...and I am, primarily, a dog lover. Thanks! Best regards, Scott

A bit more that you can share with Yvonne now follows: - Now that the Queen is no longer in a gravid state, and has no doubt lost a considerable amount of birthing weight, there is every reason (with merely 'mild OA' having been noted radiographically) to hope for/expect less stiffness in her legs and for her to no longer be walking as 'an old lady' - quite soon . The bottom line is this - derived from an old medical aphorism/axiom. Please let Yvonne know that: 'We treat the patient, not the x-ray [result]'...and with only 'mild OA' having been noted on the x-rays, and with the Queen's 👑 post-birthing weight already down - and with her activity level beginning to pick up, methinks Uniek, in the very near term, will be back to her old self (pre gravid state) in no time! Best wishes, Scott

That was so nice of you!! 👏👏👏👍 I have 2 cats on Cosequin w/ Glucosamine (Feline, obv) & it has helped enormously. A rescue feral Maine Coon had growth plates that never formed correctly in back legs, more so on right. He had Luxated Patella surgery @ 6 mos. + 30 days rehab & PT. One year later, fractured femur & Ortho Surgeon @ UPENN had to file broken end & remove other section from hip socket 😱🤯 Lots of TLC, Rehab & PT. 6 months later he was jumping onto couch 🥰😁 FYI: He & my Ragdoll thought it was "fun" to zoom down the stairs & come to dead halt @ bottom. Vet said that caused it & same fracture occurs w/ teenaged, overweight human boys. My Maine is huge, but wasn't overweight.

R🌟 is just the sweetest... esp. when he's sleepy! Your translation was perfect Yvonne. I have 2 cats on Condroitin w/ Glucosamine daily & it really, really helps. (One cat has had 2 Ortho. surgeries on same leg & it helps w/ pain) You won't see a diff. immediately, but very soon. Poor 👑 - sore legs, lump from shot in her chest, stomach swelling & getting her sore uterus flushed 😱😢 All 'Mems' are super heroes! 👍♥️🐴

Hello! Im an RN for over 20 years in the States. Glucosamine & MSM are a great combination for joints both in pets and in humans, but an even better option is to add Hyaluronic Acid. It draws water in the cells, plumps tissue and encourages synovial fluid in joints. Its naturally occurring just like Collagen but declined with age. Its great to take in supplement form for horses, dogs & humans. Works very well, rather quickly. Please try! Hoping this helps Queen Uniek. 🙏🏻❤️💋

Yes, I came here to add hyaluronic acid. I've had it injected in my knee a couple times, waiting until it's safe to get it replaced.

A homeopathic vet did wonders for my mare when she started having arthritic issues. She also benefited from chiropractic adjustment and some acupuncture. That regimen works for humans, too! Rising Star JK certainly is a handsome little fellow!
