Thanks for the help! Why didn't we subtracted the 2's in the 4√2-6√2 at the very end though? This would then leave us with 18√3 - 2 = 16√3 which is what I got. Why did we just leave it at the 18√3 - 2√2? Thanks again!

I may be 3 years late but… They are similar to x and y. It would be as if you said: 4x - 6x That’s why you keep them the same. I hope i explained it well enough.
