Learn the HATIKVA in Hebrew! Israel's National Anthem, syllable-by-syllable pronunciation + SONG!
The lyrics of Hatikva reflects the 2,000-year-old desire of the Jewish people to return to the Land of Israel in order to reclaim it as a free and sovereign nation-state. This emotional poem was originally written in 1877-1878 by the Jewish poet Naftali Herz Imber from what is now Ukraine.
When the State of Israel was established in 1948, “Hatikva” became the national anthem but only unofficially. It did not become the official national anthem until 2004, when the Knesset passed a law making it the national anthem of Israel. In its modern rendering, the official text of the anthem incorporates only the first stanza. The predominant theme in the remaining stanzas is the establishment of a sovereign and free nation in the Land of Israel, a hope largely seen as fulfilled with the founding of the State of Israel. (The melody for “Hatikva” is based from “La Mantovana”, a 16th-century Italian song, composed by Giuseppe Cenci in ca. 1600 with the text “Fuggi, fuggi, fuggi da questo cielo”.)

People need to understand that hexagram is not the "star of David", but rather, the star of ramphan written in the old testament, where the israelites performed child sacrifices dedicated to their idolatrous baal worship.

Yes, Psalm 119 was a BIG project and "Hatikva" took a while to make as I had to wait for my voice to come back after I had a little cold in December. Now I will need to shift my focus to do my taxes, and backend maintenance and hope to start posting again in the Spring.
I've known Hatiqva since 1979 as a volunteer at kibbutz Kabri. Still love to hear you working through it, and will share it with friends. Am Israel chai ❤️ 🇮🇱! 🤗
I so appreciate you doing this video. I have always stood with Israel, but it wasn't until 07 Oct that I became familiar with Israel's national anthem. I fell in love with it, without knowing what any of the words were. I then found an English translation, and my heart melted, and broke at the same time. It's so powerful, meaningful, and heartbreaking. I believe you will one day have piece to live a peaceful life in the chosen land gifted to you by HaShem. My son and I want very much to love Hebrew. I think I'm too old to, but I'm going to give it a go. I want to be able to sing the Hatikva with no problem. I'd love to sing it in English, but even more, I want to sing it in Hebrew. I him it off and all day anyway, so I might as well learn the words, right!
Beautiful anthem. Yes! It is a blessing to learn Hebrew from you.
Shalom Ayelet. Love this national Anthem. Praying for blessings and safety for you and Israel in the mighty Name of Yeshua.
I love it ,so glorious!!! Todah rabah!!!; Am Yisrael chai!!!!

Your voice is so beautiful. I'm Jewish but my mother could not teach me these songs as we live among the outer world. But this song feels so good for my soul and it gives me hope even though I live far away from Israel.
