I prayed this and I felt the tangible Spirit of God fill the room and I began to cry. I am barely learning Hebrew. It felt like this language has been trapped in my heart all my life and was finally let out to praise God.

Fakers. The Spirit of God is not some genie to be conjured up by reciting a certain phrase or speaking a certain language. He is holy and must be reverenced and feared.

@@SGBass Is not the Spirit of God like the wind (Ruach) that comes and goes as it(He) wills? Who are we to put limits on where, when, and how the Spirit is sent? It is not some magical words, it is the openness of Luis' heart. I think we all understand that. If the Holy Ruach of the Lord gave this person the tangible gift of His presence and we ridicule that are we not placing ourselves against the Spirit? To do so is a very serious thing, is it not?

@@carolyncrider8217 God may indeed be calling you to learn the Hebrew language. However, remember that what you learn is less important than what you do with your knowledge. Reciting the Shema and the scriptures in Hebrew is awesome. Loving Adonai with all of your heart and soul and strength is the central theme of the Torah, the rest is just the how-to.

I am not Jewish, but my granddaughter is. Her great grandmother was the only surviving member of her family. The rest were murdered in the camps. She did not reveal she was Jewish until on her deathbed. She told her only child and my daughter in law. When I found out my thought was “I have been preparing for this my whole life.” I am teaching her this. Evil will not rob her of her heritage as long as I draw breath. I went to a service and the prayers made me weep. Just like other commenters, I felt like they had been trapped in my heart.

Being a Detroit Jew at least where I was raised you don't get to go to Hebrew School. You had me in tears yesterday because I finally was able to speak this more fluently. My goal is to learn a prayer a day. ELOKIM is real even though most Jews dont really seem to want to support things outside their agenda. You proved that wrong. Toda Roba....

If thou love the hebrew language, then it is imperative that you should start loving the Great Name of the Heavenly Father, YAHWEH, the true Living Elohim (not G-d or Adonai) of Abraham, isaac and Jacob, and His Beloved Son YAHSHUA the Messiah, the true Savior and Redeemer of mankind (not jes-s chr-st of xtianity). Salvation can be found only in the Name of YAHSHUA (means YAHWEH is salvation). acts 4:12. No other names could serve this lofty purpose.

Committing this to heart and I experienced an overwhelming burden and blessing as I said these words. May we love Yahweh with all that we are! May we honor Him above all else! And may those in Israel and Palestine know His love by those who follow the Messiah who followed these words perfectly. By following these words perfectly, he was lead to a cross of shame and rose again claiming victory over sin and death for those who trust in Him. Like Moses’s bronze serpent he was lifted up! May Gods people look to him and trust in His name! May they love their enemies, Just as Yeshua Loved us and laid down his life for us! This Messiah proclaimed that the whole of the Torah and prophets hang on this commandment, to love Yahweh your God with everything you are, and to Love your neighbor as yourself… May we all learn this and find Hope and Shalom.

I saw a video recently of an older Jewish gentleman who was hiding when Israel was being attacked. He had been hiding for 22 hours when the IDF banged on his door. He said any Jewish person would know what he was saying. He yelled Shima YIsrael and they yelled back Adonai eloheinu, Adonai echad and they took him to safety. I wondered what was being said. So I looked it up and as a Christian it touched my heart for the gentleman and because I love my God who has adopted me into his family. So now I want to pronounce it. Thank you for posting this.

I was praying in tongues in my room and one of the silables that often "pops up" is " mashem". As I was praying in the spirit, suddenly I said it repeatedly and very fast: "mashemashemashemashema" and then I became aware of what I was saying: "Shemá". It was so clear. When I decided to search the meaning, I was taken to this beautiful prayer. This was my confirmation that the Lord is listening very attentively when we pray in the spirit. Thank you Lord! Shalom Ayelet, Thankyou very much for bringing us your beautiful lesson on Shema. Firstly, I have to say how much I love your name and your beautiful authentic Hebrew. I have decided quite late in life that I want to learn Shema so I can recite it properly, with Kvod. I come from a part of the world where I had no Hebrew as a child, so for me every word in Torah is a like a brick. But brick is not a bad word. It is a good and appropriate word because it connotes the heavy, laborious work that with care and perseverance can result in Temples and wailing walls. I have to struggle in my learning, but every word is a building block toward insight, understanding and mitzvot. First I hear words. And I must listen. Then I must practice. Perhaps a little will go into my head, Perhaps a smidge into my heart and soul. ************** Now, more mundanely, you invited comments. Firstly, your lesson appears to me to cover only the first few lines of Shema, yet you say it IS the Shema. I am hoping that one day you might give us another lesson with the full Shema. Secondly, if you do give another lesson, please consider using your pointer on the Hebrew words rather than the English transliteration. I think you can assume your viewers already know English and can read the transliteration for themselves. I believe it would be more instructive to point right-to-left on the Hebrew words as you pronounce them. Thankyou again. ************************* May Hashem bring rains in proper times, and days of the heavens on the earth.
