Well being French, I would recommend to say "Parlez-vous anglais ?", than "Est-ce que vous parlez anglais ?". It's shorter but still formal .. Good luck ! ;)

I am learning French in school in another country, the thing is most people find it easy to add est-ce que, because they make mistakes doing inversion when the sentence isn’t affirmative or in present.
I like this host, she makes it so clear (without nonsense) and easy. She also looks very professional
OK I'M FRENCH AND I'M WATCHING THIS VIDEO. AWKWARD.

I'm Haitian-American and this is interesting. French is very similar to Haitian Creole/French but there are some obvious differences in the spelling and pronunciation. I pretty much already understood what she was saying though.

For anyone struggling to conjugate the word "parler" (1 groupe), here's how to conjugate a 1 groupe word; je : parlE tu: parlES il/elle/on: parlE nous: parlONS vous:parlEZ ils/elles: parlENT I hope this helped! (the letters that are upper-case are the endings for 1 groupe words, words in other groups have different endings)

I was just in Paris last week and I always greeted people like this: “Bonjour, Madame/Monsieur..parlez-vous Anglais?” People were very appreciative of how I greeted them and that I was making an effort to try and speak French.

(cont.) 'le' and 'la' are not strictly speaking interchangeable. Some words take a different meaning depending on whether you use the masculine or feminine article; but it is understandable to a native speaker if you make a few mistakes as you're learning. Finally, when you talk about plural nouns, the article is always 'les' whether or not it's masculine or feminine. The houses = les maisons. The coffees = les cafés. The men = les hommes.
Thank you so much, But very hard for learning...
Is there material to study more details for grammar ?
Pretty good!

I feel like this will be the most useful phrase ever when you’re in France or talking to someone French
Actually French is very important fo communicatin with others i know that is difficult but we will struggle to learn it . we only have to overcome failure
Ingrid, youre super
Lol i didnt know i could have a french accent, greetings from Peru
I'm french and for the "je ne parle pas anglais" the most of french dont say the "ne" they rather say "je parle pas anglais" it's very rare that french people say the "ne" and another exemple "il t'a dit quoi?" (what did he told you) the most of french people didn't pronounce the "l" of the "il" we rather say "i ta dis quoi?" and basically the teenagers and again a lot of other things but it's to complicate
@FateNightroad
8 жыл бұрын
+iiinès But I still hear the faint sound of N. For example, "*Jeune* suis pas lui..."
@dorixcraft
8 жыл бұрын
+Fate Nightroad Well, it's basically a contraction of the "ne" used usually before a vowel but used before a consonnant, and it's written "Je n'suis pas lui" ... but it's considered a mistake that you shouldn't make in french.
I was surprised to see that 'Parlez-vous anglais' wasn't mentioned. That's what I'd use from what I remember of GCSE french nearly 30 years ago.

Maybe...But you could use an English Class though. If you are a native french speaker, i don't see the point in you watching this video....You could watch Englishpod101's videos instead.
In French, all nouns have genders. They can either be masculine or feminine. 'le' is used when you talk about a masculine noun, and 'la' is feminine. For example, the house = la maison but the coffee = le café If the noun begins with a vowel or mute H, you use l' because the word links up to avoid a hiatus sound. "The man" would be "le homme" but because it is a mute H, the words link up to "l'homme" Generally there is no rule to which is masculine/feminine, it just takes practice.
