Regards losing a Leap Card - maybe consider wearing a lanyard card holder with the Leap Card in it. I keep my Freedom Pass in a lanyard card holder; I consider it reduces the risk of losing it. I do however need to ensure it is securely back in the card holder after having taken it out to put on the Oyster Card reader.

Hi, thanks for excellent video! I just have one doubt. I'm going to buy the 72h VISITOR Leap Card (16€) , after those 72 hours, do you know if it's possible to top up the card with, for example, €2 or do I have to top up with 1 day/24 hours, which is 8€? thanks

Yes you can top them up with additional Number of days- 1 , 3 or 7 from any recharge outlets like spar

When coming home to Ireland for 5 days at a time from the U.K., the issue of whether or not to buy a Leap Card is a bit confusing to me, because as my family live in Dunshaughlin, Co Meath, my understanding is that they are not currently available on Bus Éireann Coach Services from Dublin to Navan/Trim, Kells and Cavan - if it meant saving some money on Bus Éireann coach fares, I would consider it

Thats right. I wish the public transport would soon be established there. Also you can buy the leap card once and keep using the same. It does not expiry. If its get damaged over time request for a new one online free of cost.

@@DeeptiKulkarni_ I know that there is a rail line from Dublin Docklands station (Irish Rail) to M3 Parkway with a possible extension to Navan in the coming years, which would have a station near to my native Dunshaughlin, but there is no LUAS nor DART connection from the Irish Ferries & Stena Terminals to either Dublin City Centre (Connolly) or to Dublin Docklands, only as far as the 02 Arena/Gibson Hotel - given that Dublin Port is in such close proximity to the Port Tunnel and the M50 via Blanchardstown, I’m surprised that Bus Éireann have not started any direct coach services from there to Navan, as they have done from Dublin Airport and also, especially since Dublin Port has been expanded to take cruise ships, I’m also surprised that they have not started any water taxi services on the River Liffey at high tide like they do on the River Thames in London - a water taxi service would make connecting with the DART, Dublin Bus, LUAS, Irish Rail & Bus Éireann services up as far as Capel St Bridge far easier, as they already do Liffey Tour boats along the Liffey all the time, in the same way that barges used to transport Guinness from beyond Capel St Bridge to Dublin Port almost a century ago in Irish history

Yes there is. You can either take a bus or a train. There are trains on a daily basis, every two hour and it will cost you 17.39 euro. Its a three hour journey. Check this link here www.irishrail.ie/en-ie/Home

There are also buses on a daily basis. Citylink takes you to Galway . It will take you 2 and half hours to reach and will cost you about 14 euros. Here is the link for more info: www.citylink.ie/

Students can get student leap cards and you can apply to get student leap card when you are in dublin. You cannot buy student leap cards from shops . You can get them directly from your university or dublin bus office. Student leap cards have cheaper fare prices and have lower daily capping amount

When loading the card at the machine can i put in a credit card in that has a chip... no tap is available on my credit card

Yes, you can insert your debit card into a LUAS /dart ticket machine in Dublin. In fact, ticket machines accept a variety of payment methods including: Debit cards Credit cards Cash (coins) Contactless payments (Google Pay, Apple Pay)

Hi no you cannot use same leap card to make contactless payment for more than one person however you can use the same leap card to buy multiple tickets either on the bus or ticket machine

Adult leap card weekly capping is 32 euros from Monday to Sunday on a multi mode (bus,dart, luas). If you have proof of the extra amount spent from your app during this period then go ahead and raise a complaint.
