Crystal Lewis is one of the Best Gospel singers out yet she does not get the recognition nor props she deserves.... She is truly talented and she has a voice that is annotedand touched by an angel... Luv you Crystal. She is soulful and guess what she is not black nor does she have to be... She is Blessed!!

Ok first of all, Crystal is one of the best vocalists of ALL time. Even without singing in her upper register, ya'll saying she has no vocal range, go buy her 'Joy' 1989 album on Itunes. She is a superior vocalist who has control over her voice. Her voice didn't crack at 1:38 , her vibrato was more shaky sounding and yes, her voice became limited after 1995, i don't know if she hurt her voice, or it changed after she had a child, or she just wasn't a teenager anymore, like she was in late 80's and early 90's. But she sounded like a mini Whitney Houston on her album 'Joy' in '89. She is truly versatile and doesn't just sing gospel, she has experimented with all different genres, including recording a couple Spanish language albums. A real artist, that deserves more respect and recognition.

good news. crystal is singing the same way she used to in her newest album. you can hear it in her song "let it go" and "in your name." so I think she limited her voice because she would be singing more often when her popularity sky rocketed in the mid 90's.

you're basing her singing style off one note, in one recording. Listen to her song the studio version of the song "Gold" or "My Tribute," or "I'd Rather Have Jesus," for example, and her voice makes that same sound when she uses her vibrato. and why compare?; there are two totally different voice types here. that's like comparing Andrea Bocelli and Luther Vandross. haha

I have to laugh at you putting down crystal's singing ability and vocal range when she is among the top out there. she has done more for the start of the christian music industry than most other artists out there.

I think we're hearing different songs, beacuse "far from perfect" is an exaguration. Just seems like your going out of your way to put Crystal down. When a singer is on stage there are many other factors besides the singer themselves that affect the sound heard also. By the way the video is called Lean on Me by Crystal Lewis, not Tamela. Whether she is overlooked or not that's in her and God's hands. If God has called someone he'll make a way where there is no way.Thats what christians believe

Tamela seemed to be angry during her singing. Crystal was stunned at the way she came at her during the solo. Tamela is more professional than that....Tamela has yet to produce the number one albums that Crystal has...the awards and the money. Tamela is good on someoneelses song...but lets see her stand alone and work her career without trying to bling on someoneelses album. She would have been better off on this not showing up.

i see what you mean but crystal is a bigger headliner than tamela mann so that's what's they are going to show.. I just didn't care for the black versus white singers comment, it sounded kinda racist as first.

I miss the hell out of Crystal. She used be me and mom's FAVORITE gospel singer. If you listen to her daughter, she has none of her mom's soul and passion at all. Lol. Kinda weird. lol.

Didn't like this one too much. Didn't really no where the melody was at all. Heard some singing, then some shouting, then it was over. Wasn't feeling it, but for some reason it still moved me. :)

Well Crystal had a verse or two in the original song, but she did not have the entire song. So apparently Tamela Mann did SANG a lil strong on this live show. I've never seen her sing this Wild on a song.Crystal has the Christian market to herself sort of speak and Crystal started out lead singing with black choirs. But I do feel that some black women may get looked over because of their size on a stellar show such as this. Crystal was the feature on this one. TM was out of line.
