I used to sit on my front porch picking at my guitar and singing song after song, writing piece after piece. My dog and best bud Coal would lay there the whole time. He used to lean on me like your two dogs there, and all was well with the world. He passed away in November and I miss those days something awful, I wish he could still lean on me. This is a beautiful tribute to Bill Withers, and the very words he put in that song. Thank you.

I'm so sorry about Coal; the only thing worse than losing your best friend is not having had him at all. There are only three things wrong with dogs: they like to roll in gross things, they like to eat gross things... and they just don't live long enough... that's how they teach us about life and loss. RIP, Bill Withers, and Coal.

WHat a sweet video. I'm 75 now but when I was 2 years old, several of my dad's brothers and one cousin lived with us. Uncle Benjamin played the mandolin. I loved when he laid me on his bed at night and would play the mandolin for me. That was so special and serene. I know how those 2 doggies must have felt.

@TCL I got my puppy when I was I think 3, I was pretty young that's all that I know and remember. I wanna say I was one of the lucky ones, who got to say goodbye before school. There is not a day that goes by that I wish I spent more time with her.

I've seen so much, heard so much, thought so much, been a fucking degenerate, now im falling away from people, drawing away from everything. I've come across this video and this specific song was something played often in my elementary school, class of 18'. I haven't heard it much since, so the nostalgia is intense. When you grow up, you think about when you asked those questions that get a response of you'll understand when you get older. I still don't understand, people have just made excuses for it. Im actually tearing up to these videos. I want to just watch these until my body is unable to keep living. Nothing has any heart. This video has everything I want to feel again.
