LEAN BITES: AIM FOR ORGANIC GROWTH

A "bite sized" explanation of a principle to help sustain your Lean Journey.
Organic growth involves learning something, applying it and then repeating it.
In the process of repeating the cycle through expansion, you really understand it to the point that you go beyond what was taught or explained.
I believe there are 2 keys to create an environment for organic growth:
1. Create a pilot area, where your team can practice what’s being taught. Don’t make it too complex. Engage people in that area who will be the beneficiaries of the improvement. Ensure before the end of the pilot, that the team fully understands the tool.
2. Ensure the team is empowered by local and senior leadership, to expand the methodology outside of the pilot. If the team is engaged, don’t limit their creativity in repeating/expanding to a new area.
I’ve seen that these keys have helped teams, organic growth Lean in their organisation.
I’m sure you’ll find this demonstration very helpful.
