Well judging by what has happened in the past regarding hand wraps and boxer injuries it is just another advantage taken away from corrupt fighters like Cabello. Just look at Cotto v Margarito, the difference between a win and a loss via one factor, hand wraps. It is not common but still it’s an issue, people have died over this. There is a difference between logic and being a pussy, so drop the hostility and move on.

Not at all lol. Every fighter has a comfortable wrap method. Only their corner knows it. So long as there is nothing illegal like hard materials being snuck in or plaster, it's all good.

I still remember when my mom wrapped my hands for the first time. She told me “That’s how your grandma taught me”. Very traditional family.

Jack Neals Two problems with that. 1. The commission has to be there during the wrapping. Unless they had a rep already in GGG’s rooms they would have had to re-wrap it later in front of them. 2. That would have left no representation from GGG’s camp while Canelo’s hands were being wrapped (which is optional) so who knows what would have happened. I personally think this was just an old tactic Sanchez was using, trying to upset, disrupt, distract, etc by complaining. I’ve seen several pre-fight wrappings in my time, and this is very common what he did. Still, I would t trust Canelo’s team for shit.

In the state of Nevada is legal to do so, many others do. Abel just forgot what state he was at the moment. GGG can do the same it’s just whether you feel more comfortable or not. Again only in Vegas is legal to “double stack” and Abel’s filed complaint was ruled out for that simple fact.

Can we like top comment this so people can understand that each state has its own rules and guidelines in the sport of boxing.. Abel and triple g fight mostly in cali and abel is used to only wrapping triple gs hands 1 way. As triple g i would be disappointed in abel for his lack of knowledge of the sports hes practiced in for over 20 years. Imagine playing a sport and having a coach who doesnt even know the rules of it lol embarrassing

This was the first time I heard about the term “Stacking” in boxing even though I have watched many PPV bouts since around 2006, and if you want to know more about that process search Jacob “Stitch” Duran’s interpretation on “Stacking”, he’s a hand wrapping expert and also a veteran cutman one of the best in the business. Stitch’s interpretation is spot on, he knows exactly what he is talking about

When you know you’re guilty of something or know about something that can damage your reputation, you resort to defending yourself and try to claim you are right without being objective. I did amateur and I sucked but this is how everybody did it and on amateur they have a checklist it's more strict than you can imagine. Its not necessarily stackingmore like a cushion because if you don't gauze up or do it very poorly your knuckle will bleed after a couple of punches and thus youll find it uncomfortable to punch.

well i saw the stitch duran video and read up on the rules. abel did protest but nevada said canelo was in the clear. but the rules in 467.432 in nevada say the tape must be directly on the the skin and then gauze thats it. stitch duran literally calls the technique stacking. and its gauze then tape then gauze. no tape allowed over the knucles or within one inch of the knuckles.the rules are pretty clear but apperantly nevada dont take their own rules literally.

FYI taping on the knuckles and esp. double stacking is forbidden almost anywhere (except NV), because it compresses the gauze and makes the wrap a lot harder, esp. on the knuckle area.

Whats interesting is that in NV they allow tape directly on the skin, and other boxing commissions do not. Thats what happened when Tito fought Bhop in NY. And Naseem pointed it out and he wasn't allowed to do that. Unfortunately it was taken out of context and he was accused by many of having doctored wraps. Not true at all, only tape on the skin

It's not a clear cut argument. Regardless of whether or not it was legal (as of which I am unsure because I was not physically there) it was stacking, even if it was light stacking. It's also apparent that numerous teams have had a problem with Canelo's wraps; including the Lara camp as mentioned above, and the Smith camp and the Golovkin camp.

@@LaLoK955 drugs help you go at 80% pace for 12 rounds, they dont do so much in punching power, but rather endurance, which directly translate into power in later rounds, the saying of getting into deep waters in late rounds, it means you're literally gasping for air and try to put on an unfazed face so the opponent don't catch you gasping and decide to go on the offense knowing you can no longer defend properly when your main focus is just to sip air. and when you're in deep waters , forget about punching power, you aint doing shit, your fists becomes pillows, that's where the drugs kick in, you have unlimited oxygen supply, EPO's increase red blood cells concentration and rate of oxygen delivery. so you can abuse your power in starting from earlier rounds without worrying about gassing after the 6th.

First you wrap the hand in gauze, pad it and then tape it. “Stacking” you add another layer of gauze and tape. Sometimes even another. There isn’t a “official” way to wrap hands. Each trainer may have a different method. Sometimes there is gauze rolled and layered over the knuckles, this could cause unfair advantages. Creating these layers creates a cast of sorts. So imagine being punched by a casted fist. Therein lies the controversy.

@@INDICAFILMS411 not an official way to wrap but there are guidelines which change from state to state.. Some states restrict certain gause other states restrict how far the tape can go up to the knuckles. So their isnt a official way to wrap but every fighter depending on the state should be wrapped similar.

You can tell abel would of loved to back hand him in front of everybody lol

I always thought that they should wrap both Fighters hands when both Fighters are in the room or in a room with whoever supposed to supervise and judge whether the rapping is being done incorrectly or correctly
