@@elementeight8 For real. My consolation is hearing that all sheriffs in the state were invited, only three showed up and they came from the north (not local). One said he was totally surprised that they had this publicity spot instead of a closed-door round-table discussion as was hinted at in the invitation. I don't know whether that was a clever cover-up for an unpopular move or whether it was a sincere statement. I prefer to think they were bamboozled. But at least they seem to be getting a lot of flack for it, which they should.

Additionally, people tend to forget that a lot of what we have in this country is funded by our taxes. Public parks? Libraries? Infrastructure? Schools? Don't get me wrong, the government can misuse taxpayer money, but the solution is to vote corrupt people out. I'm proud to pay my taxes because I'm contributing to the well being of my country. I remember what happened after the "cops for Trump" rally in Minneapolis. Shortly after they shown us all exactly who they are.

Are we sure those were law enforcement? Some of them looked like hotel doormen.

I used to be a uniformed public servant (emptied trash cans and cleaned toilets for the National Park Service). We were told in no uncertain terms not to EVER wear our uniforms to a political event. It was considered grossly inappropriate.

Law enforcement should stay out of politics. Politics, especially in the U.S. transports a certain image of humanity. Hard to not being prejudiced when you support a certain political view.

It’s just a stereotype for white males that attend Dave Matthews to be named Kyle. Because Kyle is a generic white male name especially common for men born in the 90s and 80s. If there was more it went over my head too.

Motioned his hands into an hourglass shape, and he did it again waiting for a laughter.... when it's a covid19 Task Force Press event and not his cronies at his cheesecake factory he calls a resort so he doesn't have to pay for residential taxes.

I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking it. Clinton was a rapist prick, repealed Glass-Steagall, opening the real estate market to Wall Street speculation. Bush started two two-decades-long wars that destabilized the middle east, drained trillions of dollars from our nation, and then he oversaw the biggest financial crisis in decades. Obama wasn't bad after those two, but he bailed the banks out, appointed the people who caused the problem to fix the problem, and was super corporate and egotistical. Biden is the first president since Jimmy Carter to have even a sliver of modesty or humility. Yeah, he might be a corporate-loving, bank-loving husk of a man, but he is absolutely the best president we've had since I've been alive. I mean, low bar but whatever. The vote this year is between literally the best president we've had in ages, or a criminal grifter whose only loyalty is towards money and power. Tough choice.

​@@robertfrapples2472Trump's policies were to start a trade war with China to get people's jobs back. We've learned that tariffs only cause harm to both economies involved since the 1930 Haley Smoot Act showed that. He spent money to fight in Syria, which unnecessarily caused tensions with Russia, why? He ended Obamas agreement that might have put any restraint on Iran making nukes. Trump did slap sanctions on Iran, but that did less to slow Iran down from making nukes. He let a cap on nukes deal with Russia end without talking about renewal. He was found guilty of insurrection for Jan 6 riot in The Colorado State Supreme Court. He was consequentially barred from The Colorado ballet. His NAFTA 2.0 didn't do much. After the 2008 financial crisis, The Dodd-Frank act was passed to prevent another crisis like that from happening again. Then Trump worked with a republican run congress to raise the threshold for which banks The Dodd Frank Act applied to. Instead of medium and large banks, The Dodd Frank act only applied to large banks after Trump did this. Guess what happened to the medium sized banks a few years after this change to The Dodd Frank? They had another 2008 style financial crisis and FDIC had to bail them out... again. One of his biggest policy points was to build a wall across Mexico, "and make Mexico pay for it." If I just put aside that second part as so unrealistic that I knew that part wouldn't happen at all, building a wall is stupid, and won't be the thing that stops immigrants from entering the usa. The design chosen was passable with some effort and ingenuity. Trump couldn't budge a republican house and senate to fund it because although the average republican voters want it, the elite republicans know its stupid. He ordered mass arrests of illegal immigrants, and the gov, under Trumps leadership, seperated children from their parents and put them all in inhumane conditions.. Trump ended the pacific trade agreement that Obama spent a long time negotiating, and might have been the only thing that might have had China honor patents, but now China has no agreements or obligations to heed usa patents. This is in light of the fact that when Obama asked China to cut back on hacking the usa, some secondary evidence showed that China pointed their hackers away from the usa and at Germany as well as themselves in a major, "corruption campaign." So, The Chinese actually upheld their end of bargains with Obama. But Trump just threw the opportunity for China to heed our patents out of the window. Biden later finally made the best move and pushed a bill through congress to ban high tech chip sales to China, but thsts a little different. Trump put tariffs on our allies and trade partners, which didnt make any sense at all. It hurts everyones economy. He made a deal with the taliban that the usa would pull out of Afghanistan... 3 months into the next presidency to make Biden or whoever was elected over Trump to look bad. This doesn't really hurt The USA. Our troops were mostly fine. However, its a jerk move. Trump packed the Federal Supreme court such that they have a 6-3 republicans to democrats. Soon after that, The Supreme Court shot down affirmative action in college selection as well as roe vs wade, which forced all 50 states to make abortions legal. I actually think abortion being legal is a nonpartisan agreement between republicans and democrats. That really hurt republicans and caused many republican state govenors and legislators to lose ro democrats in the mid terms. A lot of what Trump did was neutral or useless. Like Trump tried to ban immigrants from Islamic countries, but we dont get many of them anyway compared to Europeans and such. It's just racist but doesnt do much. In the 2020 election, President Trump literally said many times that The Post Office is corrupt and will throw your votes out. I think The Post Office has some institutional insulation from the president but Trump was ultimately in charge of it. He was literally saying he couldnt do his own job of running the post office and shipping the votes to the right place. Trump didn't do anything to prevent or slow down covid until it was far too late.
