    So cool, good job! One thing that wasn't mentioned in this video was that the tom mic bleed sound was really good one. I think that is what truly makes these mics stand out from the traditional options like 421´s (thou these battle in the Josephson category). Need.

    a thing i noticed is that, if the tom gets bigger, and all tom mics have the same position, like all pointing towords the middle of the drumhead, you will loose some tonality, because of the size difference. you kinda hear it, at 09:39, the moment he changed from the 2. rack to the 1. floor tom. I solved that "problem" by getting the mic a little bit closer to the drumhead, or angle it a touch steeper, towords the rim. so the sound gets more coherent. and BTW. your stuff sounds amazing

  • @LautenAudio

    @LautenAudio

    Ай бұрын

    Thanks for being part of the family!! They are very different microphones with totally different technology and sound. Tom Mic is purpose built in every way for toms only. But that doesn’t negate how awesome the 308 are. If you decided to add Tom Mic to your arsenal, you could always move your 308s to bottom toms. Turns out it sounds ridiculous! Go watch The Black Album drum kit video we just uploaded today to hear it.

    The E22 is killer! It's a 16mm capsule, so the sound is quite different from Tom Mic. You should grab a pair and check them out.

  • @llRoBoBinHoll
    @llRoBoBinHoll25 күн бұрын

    Bottom micing the toms is a little bit overkill in my opinion. When you hit a drum, the heads will quickly start ‘agreeing’ on a frequency to vibrate in, otherwise you’d hear two distinct pitches when hitting a drum. So I don’t think there’s much merit to the idea that it’d have more low end. At most it will have a less defined attack, because the hit is more spread out by the time the impulse has traveled to the bottom head. But it makes sense that a mic company that just has brought out a tom mic is putting out this idea of bottom micing them lol😜

  • @LautenAudio

    Snare Mic is similar to the 208, but is not just a smaller version of it. The two are quite different. Tom Mic has no relationship with the 308 and is entirely reimagined in terms of sonics. Hope this helps!
